MAC NOTES
With Bowling Green's 48-27 win over Maryland from the Big Ten, the MAC has won a regular season game vs. Big Ten opponents in each of the last nine consecutive seasons (2007-2015), the longest streak in MAC history.  In 2014 the MAC had three wins vs. Big Ten opponents — Purdue, Northwestern and Indiana — and had an overall 3-8 record in 11 regular season games.  The most wins in a single season by the MAC over Big Ten opponents is four games (2008).  During this nine year stretch, MAC teams have defeated 10 different Big Ten teams—Illinois (1); Indiana (5); Iowa (1); Maryland (1); Michigan (1); Michigan State (1); Minnesota (2); Northwestern (1); Penn State (1) and Purdue (4).  A total of 18 wins during this stretch.

Toledo's 16-12 win at No. 18 ranked Arkansas marked the MAC's first win vs. an SEC opponent since 2004 (Ohio 28-16 win at Kentucky on Oct. 2, 2004).  The last time Toledo defeated a top 25 ranked team was in 2012 with a win over Cincinnati at the Glass Bowl.

Kent State kicker April Goss (Aliquippa, Pa.) became the second female ever to score in FBS game during the Golden Flashes' 45-13 win over Delaware State.  Goss kicked a successful PAT with 4:30 left in the second quarter after running back George Bollas' five yard touchdown run for a 29-6 Kent State lead.

Eastern Michigan earned a 48-29 road win at Wyoming which snapped a 14-game road losing streak for the team dating back to the 2012 season.  The win was also the program's first road non-conference win since 1988.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Matt Johnson and Roger Lewis had career days and the Bowling Green State University defense made a stand as the Falcons went on the road and stunned Maryland of the Big Ten Conference, 48-27.

Johnson was 36-of-55 passing for 491 yards, tying a school record with six touchdown passes. His 491 yards are the second-most in a game in program history. Lewis caught 15 passes, tied for fifth-most in a game in school history, for 200 yards, sixth-most in program history, as the Falcons gained 692 yards of offense, more than double Maryland's 341. The 692 yards of offense are the most in the Dino Babers era and just 14 shy of the school record 706 yards piles up against Grand Valley in 1978. Johnson became the first Falcons to throw for 400 yards in back-to-back games following a 424-yard effort a week ago against No. 23 Tennessee.

With the win, the MAC has won a regular season game vs. Big Ten opponents in each of the last nine consecutive seasons (2007-2015), the longest streak in MAC history. In 2014 the MAC had three wins vs. Big Ten opponents — Purdue, Northwestern and Indiana (a BGSU win) — and had an overall 3-8 record in 11 regular season games. The most wins in a single season by the MAC over Big Ten opponents is four games (2008). Last season the MAC registered three wins vs. Big Ten opponents for the fourth time in conference history (2000, 2003, 2012 and 2014).

ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio Bobcats emerged victorious in “The Battle for the Bell,” defeating Marshall 21-10 at Peden Stadium on Saturday night.  The Bobcat defense held Marshall to 241 yards of offense while forcing four turnovers to give Ohio a 4-3 advantage in its last seven meetings with the Herd.

KENT, Ohio -- Kent State rolled to a 45-13 win over Delaware State in its home opener on Saturday, but one of the points scored by the Golden Flashes was a bit more special than the rest.

With 4:18 to play before halftime, fifth-year senior April Goss kicked an extra point to extend the Flashes lead to 29-6 and become just the second woman to score in a major college football game.

"I knew this was a possibility tonight," said Goss, who played football at Hopewell High School in Pennsylvania, but always dreamed of kicking for a Division I college football team. "I've been waiting for this moment for an awfully long time. I felt like I blacked out a little bit when I kicked it. It wasn't the cleanest hit…but it went through, and that's all that matters."

MADISON, Wis. -- After holding tough defensively over the first four possessions, Wisconsin broke through with a 24-point second quarter to pull away from the Miami football team, 58-0, at Camp Randall Stadium on Saturday.

The Badgers scored on their opening possession when they drove 71 yards in 11 plays to get deep into RedHawk territory. It appeared that Wisconsin quarterback Joel Stave converted a first down to the Miami three on a checkdown to Dara Ogunbowale, but a review determined Ogunbowale's knee was down when he caught the ball at the 11. The ensuing fourth down saw Rafael Gaglianone hit a 29-yard field goal to put the Badgers on top 3-0.
