CHARDON, Ohio – The Miami University RedHawks held on for the wire-to-wire win of the 2015 Mid-American Conference Men’s Golf Championship. The title is the 13th in program history and the first since 1996.
The RedHawks were led by Jack Sparling, Patrick Flavin and Scott Cahill. All of whom were named All-Tournament Team following the Championships.

Following the conclusion of the Championships, the MAC announced the 2015 All-MAC regular-season awards as voted on by the coaches of the Mid-American Conference.
Toledo’s Chris Selfridge was named the MAC Golfer of the Year, becoming the second to win the award in Toledo’s history. Selfridge joins Brad Heaven, who won the award in the 2002, 2003, and 2004 seasons.
Miami’s Patrick Flavin and Zac Zedrick were named the 2015 Freshman of the Year and Kermit Blosser Coach of the Year respectively. Flavin is the fifth RedHawk to win the award, while Zedrick is the second to win the Coach of the Year award, joining Rodger Cromer who won the award eight times during his tenure.
Rounding out the individual awards was Ball State's McCormick Clouser, who was named the 2015 Earl Yestingmeier Sportsman of the Year. Voted on by him peers, the Sportsman of the Year award recognizes the player whom other players most enjoy playing or conversing with; has good rapport with his own team; is supportive of his own team, but also respects the competition; makes players feel comfortable to be around him; commands respect and esteem rather than merely being popular and would consider to be worthy of representing men's intercollegiate golf to others.
With the title, Miami earns the MAC automatic berth to the 2015 NCAA Men’s Golf Championships and will learn where they will play in their regional Monday at 10:00 AM ET.
