Kent State Crowned 2015 MAC Gymnastics Champions
Final Results
KENT, Ohio – The Kent State Golden Flashes Claimed the 2015 Mid-American Conference Gymnastics Championships Title on their home turf Saturday afternoon.
“I am just so proud of the way our team competed, “ said Kent State’s Head Coach Brice Biggin. “We had great crowd support and we had a lot of alumni come back. This means so much, especially at home.”
Kent State tallied 196.375 points while Central Michigan, the regular season champions, were runner up with 196.275. Western Michigan placed third with 195.525, Eastern Michigan in fourth with 195.075, Bowling Green in fifth with 193.575, and Ball State and Northern Illinois tied for sixth with 193.200 points.
Bowling Green’s Lauren Feeley and Central Michigan’s Halle Moraw tied for first on vault with a score of 9.900.
On the uneven bars, Kent State’s Rebecca Osmer claimed first place with a score of 9.900. Central Michigan’s Kylie Fagan took second with a 9.875 and Kent State’s Ali Marrero, Central Michigan’s Karlee Teet, and Western Michigan’s Jessie Peszek tied for third with a 9.850.
Ball State’s Jessica Leko and Central Michigan’s Taylor Noonan claimed the balance beam title with a score of 9.900.
There was a five-way tie for first on the floor exercise. Ball State’s Denasiha Christian, Central Michigan’s Taylor Bolender and Halle Moraw, and Kent State’s Skyelee Lamano and Rachel Stypinski all finished with scores of 9.900.
Western Michigan’s Anna Corbett was crowned the all-around champion with a score of 39.125 while Corbett’s teammate Kayla Weber took second with a score of 39.050. Eastern Michigan’s Carrina Lo Bello took third with a score of 38.925.
