MUNCIE, Ind. -- Ball State quarterback Riley Neal threw for 275 yards and one touchdown for his first win as a starting quarterback with a 20-10 win over UMass.
Ball State football team held visiting UMass to a season-low 10 points in a 20-10 victory Saturday afternoon at Scheumann Stadium. RB James Gilbert and WR Jordan Williams scored touchdowns for the Cardinals.

AKRON, Ohio -- Central Michigan quarterback Cooper Rush threw for 226 yards and two touchdowns as Central Michigan shut down Akron 14-6 on Saturday.
Late in the first, Akron's Robert Stein missed a 45-yard field goal attempt. Central Michigan (5-4, 4-1 Mid-American) put together a nine-play, 69-yard drive, culminating in Rush's 2-yard toss to Joe Bacci.
Akron (3-5, 1-3) answered four plays later, as Thomas Woodson found Jerome Lane on a go route for a 57-yard touchdown, but Stein missed the extra point. In the third, Central marched to the red zone and Rush hit Rice in the corner on a 14-yard fade route to put the Chippewas up 14-6.
