CLEVELAND, Ohio – Central Michigan cross country, indoor and outdoor track redshirt junior Casey Voisin was born on April 23, 1994.

Voisin is majoring in social studies with a minor in history with a 3.58 GPA. He spends approximately seven to 10 hours a week studying and around 20 hours a week training and practing. He manages his time by using a planner and a calendar so that he can keep track due dates for assignments, exams, and books reviews.

Upon graduation, Voisin would like to be teaching Social Studies, History, and/or Geography at the high school level while also coaching cross country and track & field.

Leadership to him means having a sound character 24/7, even when no one is watching.  It’s about doing the small, tedious things and leading by example by always following your moral compass and making well thought-out decisions.

“When I look at myself as a leader, I think of what it is that people notice most about me because those are the things that they are going to take away from observing my actions and words,” said Voisin. “Therefore it’s important to be constantly conscious of everything that I say and do because at any moment there could be someone that is looking for someone or something to follow. It’s an opportunity for me to help someone in whatever way possible.”

Being a MAC Leader and a part of SAAC has given him the responsibility to help not only other student athletes, but the Mount Pleasant and Mid-Michigan community.

“Being in the great company of some of the finest leaders at CMU as well as at the conference level has been incredible, said Voisin. “It is encouraging to know that together we have a strong influential voice with which we have been able to use for the betterment of our teams, schools, and communities.”

Voisin doesn’t have one particular favorite memory from his college career, but what stands out the most is how close he has grown to his teammates and all the fun times they have shared. His team is his second family, and that bond is something he believes will last for the rest of their lives.
