FOXBORO, Mass. -- Faced with its first double-digit deficit of the season, No. 19 Toledo (7-0, 4-0 MAC) responded with a dominating second-half performance in a 51-35 victory over UMass (1-6, 0-3 MAC) on Saturday at Gillette Stadium.

After being hampered by three interceptions in the first half, the Rockets scored on their first five possessions of the second stanza. Combined with a stifling showing by Toledo's defense in the final 30 minutes, it was more than enough for Toledo to maintain its unbeaten record and notch the fifth-largest comeback in school history.

The Rockets' victory extended their winning streak to 10 games dating back to last season, marking the fifth double-digit winning streak in school history.

Senior quarterback Phillip Ely, ignited the second-half explosion with four scoring tosses, finishing the day with a career-high 355 passing yards and a career-best five touchdowns.  Ely's five touchdown throws are tied for third-most in school history, trailing only former Rocket Bruce Gradkowski's total of six that he accomplished on two occasions.

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The University at Buffalo, the State University of New York football team ending a three-game losing streak in emphatic fashion by defeating Ohio, 41-17, at UB Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The UB defense was up to its old tricks, forcing four turnovers and scoring two touchdowns.

"I'm very proud of our guys. Last week was not the way anyone wanted to feel. Losing three in a row, sometimes you get yourself against the wall and start going in a bunch of different directions," said Buffalo head coach Lance Leipold. "We talked to the guys about where we wanted to be and what kind of team we could be if we put things together. Again I'm happy with the way we responded. It was the type of game where we could win by this margin, but know we have a lot to improve on."
