MAC Announces Women's Soccer Academic All-MAC Team
CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced its 2014 Women’s Soccer Academic All-MAC team Monday. A total of 123 student-athletes were named to the team.
Akron led the team with 15 student-athletes, while Eastern Michigan tallied 14 and Miami and Western Michigan had 13 represented.
Central Michigan’s Christen Chiesa, Kaylin Hoomaian and Jordan Young, EMU’s Gabriella Mancini, Miami’s Haley Walter, Northern Illinois Alex Elias, and WMU’s Mackenzie Barber recorded a perfect 4.0 GPA.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
