Kent State Clinches Sixth Straight MAC Men's Golf Title
CARMEL, Ind. - Kent State became the first team to win six consecutive outright Mid-American Conference Men's Golf Championships by completing a 10-shot victory on Sunday at Prairie View Golf Club.
Akron's second-place finished tied the program mark for best finish at the MAC Championship (2007) while the Zips posted the third-lowest total score at the MAC Championship event in school history. Toledo took third followed by Eastern Michigan in fourth snf Miami in fifth.
Kent State's Corey Conners (72-67-65-73–277) finished at 11-under-par this week to claim a five-shot first place finish. He took control of the leaderboard with a 65 on Saturday that featured a hole-in-one at the 12th hole. Conners teammate, Taylor Pendrith, finished second at 6-under par. Akron's Charlie Bull finished in third shooting 4-under par, while Ryan Harris placed fourth at even par.
