Karen (Karner) Michalak, Central Michigan (Women's Basketball, Track & Field, Field Hockey)

A superb three-sport standout who was the first woman ever to be inducted into Central Michigan's Athletic Hall of Fame.  She earned three letters in basketball, averaging 10.3 and 11.7 points per game her final two seasons.

Michalak earned three letters in field hockey, played in three national tournaments and finished with 32 career goals and 17 assists.  She was also a member of the 1978 U.S. Field Hockey team.

Michalak earned three letters in track, reaching the nationals one year.  She held the 400-meter hurdle record and once placed in five events in one meet.  Michalak coached boys' and girls' cross country at Caro High as well as volleyball and girls' track.
