MAC Men's Teams and Student-Athletes Earn 2025 ITA DI Men’s Academic Awards

BALL STATE - The 2024-25 Ball State men's tennis team was named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team after earning a 3.6 grade point average on Ball State's 4.0 scale. This marks the 13th straight year the Cardinals have earned the team honor. 

In addition, seven members of the squad received individual ITA Scholar-Athlete accolades — Ian Brady (3.6), Broc Fletcher (3.6), Drew Hayward (3.7), Jacks Lancaster (3.8), Nathaniel Webster (3.8), Anthony Shalakov (4.0) and Sajin Smith (4.0). Both Webster and Smith have garnered the award four times.

BUFFALO - The University at Buffalo men's tennis team was honored for its academic success as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced UB as one of its All-Academic Teams on Monday. In addition, five Bulls earned Scholar Athlete honors.

To be a scholar-athlete, student-athletes must have a 3.5 cumulative GPA for the previous academic year.  Buffalo's selections are Emiliano JorqueraClement MainguyTheodoros MitsakosYu-Shiang Huang and Daniils Snaiders.

As a team, the Bulls earned All-Academic honors with a team GPA of 3.522 or better.

In 2025, 994 Division I men's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete and 154 men's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.

TOLEDO - The Toledo men's tennis team has earned the ITA All-Academic Team award for the eighth-straight year. In addition, senior Hanamichi Carvajal, junior Matias Olivero and sophomore Charlie Snow received ITA Scholar-Athlete honors for their academic performance throughout the 2024-25 season.

Snow led the way with a 3.828 GPA while Carvajal posted a 3.581 GPA and Olivero earned a 3.575 GPA.
 
UIC - UIC's men's tennis team continues to shine on the tennis courts and in the classroom as a 2025 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team. Additionally, four Flames scholar-athletes were awarded Scholar-Athlete distinction.
 
The men's team earned recognition for the fourth consecutive year in a row after holding a 3.43 GPA. For a team to be considered, they must have a GPA average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.0 scale).
 
Four members of the men's tennis team were recognized for their work in the classroom over the 2024-25 academic year: Daksh Agrawal (3.72 GPA), Pedro Romano Franca (3.87 GPA), Simon Knezevic (3.73 GPA) and Eldin Nokic (3.9 GPA). To be considered, student-athletes must be at a 3.50 GPA or above (4.0 scale) for the academic year.
 
The men's team made a push into the Mid-American Conference Semifinals with a 16-6 overall record, highlighted by a 10-match winning streak between Feb. 7-March 15.

WESTERN MICHIGAN - Ten members of the Western Michigan men's tennis team have been named Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar Athletes, with the team earning ITA All-Academic recognition. 

Ashton Adesoro (3.63), Alex Antonopolous (3.52), Anton Arzhankin (3.82), Oscar Corwin (3.94), Jack Davison (3.95), Drew Evans (3.87), Matej Kajzer (3.74), Dimitri Moriarty (4.00), Brogan Pierce (3.88) and Adrian Quiros (3.69) were honored as ITA Scholar Athletes. To qualify, a student-athlete must have a GPA of at least a 3.50 for the current academic year. 
 
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.0 scale).  All varsity letterwinners are factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year (including fall 2024 and spring 2025).

To earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letterwinner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) for the current academic year, and 3.) have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters (including freshman through senior.
