MAC Has 22 Wrestlers Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

BLOOMSBURG - Three Bloomsburg student-athletes have earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Men's At-Large honors as announced by the organization on Tuesday afternoon. William Morrow and Major Lewis from wrestling at Matt Pulcinella from men's golf, each received accolades from CSC.
 
Morrow received his second career CSC Academic All-District award, earning a 3.78 GPA as a finance major. The junior led the Huskies in wins this season with eight while being named an NWCA Scholar All-American for the second straight year.
 
Lewis, a marketing major with a 3.53 GPA, earned Academic All-District honors for the first time in his career. The sophomore competed in every dual match for the Huskies during the 2024-25 season.
 
CLARION - College Sports Communicators announced their 2025 Academic All-District Men's At Large team on Tuesday afternoon. Teagan Gray of the Golden Eagles men's golf team, as well as Ethan Wiant and John Worthing of the Golden Eagles wrestling team, earned Academic All-District honors in 2025.
   
Wiant (3.59 undergraduate / 3.60 graduate - Nutrition & Fitness) finished the 2024-25 season with a 14-17 overall record, serving as the Golden Eagles' starter at 197 pounds for the entire year. He was also an Academic All-MAC selection in 2024-25.
 
Worthing (3.51 undergraduate / 4.00 graduate - Education) finished his collegiate career at Clarion by going 17-8 overall, working as the Golden Eagles' starter at 174 pounds. His overall record for his career was 86-49, and Worthing also earned Academic All-MAC and NWCA Scholar All-America honors.

LOCK HAVEN -  Anthony NotoColin Fegley and Avery Bassett of the Lock Haven men's wrestling team have been named to the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Division I Academic All-District Men's At-Large Team.
 
The award, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in their field of competition, and in the classroom. Noto (3.90 GPA, Sports Management), Fegley (3.87 GPA, Biology) and Bassett (3.87 GPA, Criminal Justice) were also named 2024-25 National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division I Individual Scholar All-Americans and earned spots on the 2024-25 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Wrestling All-Academic Team.
 
Noto soured to his fourth MAC Individual Championship this season and became the first Bald Eagle to win four consecutive MAC individual titles.
 
Bassett and Fegley also qualified for the NCAA DI National Championship, while the trio helped lead the Bald Eagles to their third MAC Team Title in four years.

NORTHERN ILLINOIS – Nine Northern Illinois University student-athletes from the gymnastics, wrestling, and men's and women's golf programs were named to College Sports Communicators' Academic All-District At-Large Teams on Tuesday.
 
Blake West earned his third consecutive Academic All-District selection. West captured the 2025 Mid-American Conference (MAC) wrestling championship at 125 pounds, becoming NIU's first 125-pound champion since 2007. He qualified for the NCAA Championships for the second straight year and finished the season with a record of 24-7. West graduated this spring with a 3.864 grade point average in Chemistry-Professional and Biological Sciences.
   
Tommy Bennett  finished fifth at the 2025 MAC Wrestling Championships at 165 pounds. He holds a 3.739 GPA in Nursing. Graduate wrestler Jacob Christensen had a 3.571 GPA in Athletic Training and finished fifth at SIUE's Cougar Clash. Sophomore Collin Arch had a 3-2 record in MAC duals this season and holds a 3.789 GPA in Health Sciences.  

KENT – Twelve Kent State student-athletes from six different teams have received Academic All-District® honors, the College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced on Tuesday.

Wrestling led the way with four student-athletes in Hunter AndelEthan Barr and Billy Meiszner and Blake Schaffer on the Men's At-Large Team. 
 

CENTRAL MICHIGAN - Eight Central Michigan student-athletes have been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, announced today.

The eight are Mallory Camryn, field hockey; Luciana Alvarado-Reid, gymnastics; Jozy AllenAva Regitz, and Sadie Hinkle, lacrosse; Rachel Niskanen, women's golf; and Luke Cochran and Alex Cramer, wrestling.

Allen, who hails from Cincinnati, earned a master's of business administration in May, graduating with a 4.00 grade point average; Alvarado-Reid, junior, Cartago, Costa Rica, 3.71, English language, literature and writing; Camryn, junior, Stony Creek, Ont., 4.00, community development; Cochran, graduate student, Grayslake, Ill., computer science, 3.84; Hinkle, senior, Medina, Ohio, sport management, 3.67; Niskanen, redshirt sophomore, Negaunee, 3.59, exercise science, 3.59; Regitz, sophomore, Marietta, Ga., international relations, 3.95.

EDINBORO - Wrestling standouts Brody Evans and Max Kirby were named to the College Sport Communicators Men's At-Large Academic All-District team announced Tuesday afternoon.

Kirby wrestled 165 for the Scots posting a 13-19 record. He is majoring in nursing. Evans posted an 18-17 record while majoring in Physical Education.

SIU EDWARDSVILLE - Six SIUE student-athletes were named to the Academic All-District® At-Large team Tuesday by College Sports Communicators, which recognizes student-athletes for their performance in competition and in the classroom.

SIUE golfers Preston BilyAlex Eickhoff and Brady Kaufmann along with wrestlers Bradley GillumDanny Martinez and Hayden Whidden were honored.

To be considered, student-athletes must have achieved at least a 3.50 grade point average. Golfers and wrestlers both must have competed in 70 percent of the team's total events which were team scoring events.

Gillum holds a 3.634 GPA in geography. The redshirt sophomore won six matches during the season and was SIUE's 165-pound representative at the Mid-America Conference Championships.

Martinez has a 3.53 GPA in business administration. The sophomore placed third at the 2025 Mid-America Conference Championships and led the team in falls with six during the season.

Whidden holds a 3.50 GPA in nursing. The sophomore was SIUE's 149-pound representative at the Mid-American Conference Championships and finished with 12 victories during the season.

The full Academic All-America list will be released in July.
 
The 2025 Academic All-District® Men's  At-Large teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. A student-athlete must maintain a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and meet the athletic criteria based on their sport.

Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members.  

NCAA and NAIA Men’s At-Large Academic All-America® First-, second- and third-team honorees will be announced on Wednesday, July 9, 2025.
