Robert Morris
The RMU women's lacrosse team looks to claim its second consecutive Mid-American Conference (MAC) Championship as it hosts Akron at Joe Walton Stadium on Saturday afternoon. First draw is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., with the game streaming live on ESPN+.

The Colonials (8–10, 4–2 MAC) advanced to the championship game with a 13-9 semifinal victory over Detroit Mercy on Thursday at Joe Walton Stadium. Senior midfielder Jenna Irwin led the way with four goals and two assists, while also recording four draw controls and three ground balls. The RMU defense was particularly strong in the second half, limiting the Titans to just three goals.

RMU holds a 7-1 all-time record against Akron. The lone loss came in this season's regular-season finale, where the Colonials fell 14-12 on the road. In that contest, Mia Berthoff tied her season high with five goals on eight shots on goal, while Eliana LaMange had a season-best three-goal performance on four shots. The game was tied at 12 with nine minutes remaining, but the Zips scored twice in the final eight minutes to secure the win.

At home, the Colonials are a perfect 4-0 against Akron. Their last meeting at Joe Walton Stadium was a thrilling triple-overtime victory, 10-9, with Jenna Irwin netting the game-winning goal.

RMU is seeking its second straight MAC Tournament title, which would set a program record. With a win, head coach Courtney Grove would become just the third coach in Robert Morris history to win back-to-back conference championships to begin their tenure.

The Colonials have reached four consecutive MAC Championship games — the most by any team since the sport was added to the conference in 2021. A victory would secure RMU's third NCAA Tournament appearance in program history (2021, 2024).

Akron
The University of Akron lacrosse team will vie for the Mid-American Conference Championship and NCAA Tournament berth on Saturday (May 3) as the third-seeded Zips battle top-seeded Robert Morris at 1 p.m. in Moon Township, Pa.

AKRON EARNS FIRST EVER MAC REGULAR SEASON TITLE:
With its 14-12 come-from-behind victory over Robert Morris on Sunday (April 27) the Zips earned a share of their first-ever Mid-American Conference regular season title.

The Zips will be playing in their second postseason game in program history when the squad battles Robert Morris on Saturday (May 3). Akron earned its first ever postseason triumph with a 16-4 victory past Eastern Michigan on Thursday (May 1).

Sienna Hinchcliffe leads the Zips in goals (56), points (68), shots (132) and shots on goal (100). Noelle Boyd paces the squad in assists (26) and draw controls (70) and ranks second in ground balls (39). Katie Baumer directs the team in caused turnovers (23). Goalkeeper Hannah Sanders has registered 129 saves and a team-high 40 ground balls.
