MAC Announces Final Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week Winners

Offensive Player of the Week
Sienna Hinchcliffe, Akron

Akron sophomore Sienna Hinchcliffe spearheaded a second-half comeback that gave the Zips their first ever MAC regular season title netting three of her game-high six goals in the final half in a 14-12 victory over Robert Morris. She equaled a career-high mark netting six goals, on the strength of a game-best 11 shots, including posting a career-high nine on goal. With her second goal of the afternoon Hinchcliffe broke the single season record for goals scored (48) at Akron set by Alexis Kiefer during the 2021 campaign. Additionally, she led the Zips with six draws controls to go along with one ground ball.

Defensive Player of the Week
Tori Bustamante, Youngstown State

Tori Bustamante wrapped up her record-breaking season in Saturday's victory over Kent State with a season-high 7 ground balls while also tying a season-high with 4 caused turnovers. She broke the single-season program ground balls record with 42, which ranks 4th in the MAC this season. She also finished the season with 36 caused turnovers, which is one shy of tying the single-season program record. Her 36 CT this season were 9 more than any other player in the conference, and her 2.40 CT/G led the MAC as she was the only player in the conference to average at least 2.00 CT/G. She had at least 3 CT in eight games this season, while also corralling at least 6 GB three times.

Goalkeeper of the Week
Meredith Leavell, Detroit Mercy

Senior Meredith Leavell made 14 saves in net and tied her season best allowing just seven goals in a postseason clinching 9-7 win over Central Michigan.

She had eight saves in the first half and five in the fourth period as the Titans rallied for the win.
