GROVE CITY, Ohio -- After day one of the 2025 MAC Men's Golf Championships, the Eastern Michigan Eagles and NIU Huskies are tied for the lead with a team score of 285 (-3) here at the 7,462-yard par-72 Pinnacle Golf Club.
Kent State is currently in third place with a score of 288 (E), while Toledo sits in fourth place with a score of 289 (+1). Ball State rounds out the top-5 with a day one score of 293 (+5).
Eastern Michigan freshman James Baxter fired a five-under par 67 and holds a one-stroke individual lead following Sunday's opening round. Baxter registered a team-high six birdies, as well an eagle on the 11th hole. He played the back nine at four-under par. NIU's Craig Long II is in second place after carding a 68 (-4).
