MAC Announces Week 8 Women's Lacrosse Weekly Awards

Offensive Player of the Week
Alyssa Jarvis, Detroit Mercy
Junior, Woodinville, Wa. (Woodinville)
 
Junior Alyssa Jarvis led the way with a career-best 5 goals and pulled down a game-high and tying her season-best with 7 draw controls along with picking up 3 ground balls in the win over Akron. She started the scoring and had 4 of the first 5 Titan goals.
 
Jarvis now has 5 career hat tricks and has a career-high 21 goals on the season and is now tied for ninth in school history with 121 draw controls.
 
Co-Defensive Player of the Week
Madison Prietz, Robert Morris
Freshman, Eldersburg, Md. (Century High School)
 
Prietz tied the team lead with six draw controls in the win over Youngstown State on Saturday. With Prietz’s draw controls in the second quarter, she helped flip the game and for RMU to score a season-high seven goals in the 2nd quarter against YSU. 
 
Prietz also added a goal in each game against ODU and YSU and led all RMU players with five ground balls this week
 
Co-Defensive Player of the Week
Jozy Allen, Central Michigan
Senior, Cincinnati, Ohio (Sycamore)
 
Jozy Allen posted two caused turnovers, one of which came in a five-goal fourth quarter rally. The senior also collected eight draw controls and passed Audrey Whiteside for third all-time in career draw controls at CMU. 
 
Goalkeeper of the Week
Meredith Leavell, Detroit Mercy
Senior, Sarasota, Fla. (IMG Academy)
Leavell made nine saves, including six in the first half and two in the final nine minutes, to keep the Titans in front. 
 
She came into the game second in the MAC and fourth in DI with 11.78 saves per game, while her 106 saves are tops in the league and seventh in the nation. 
 
Leavell has now allowed less than 10 goals nine times in her career when playing at least 45 minutes. Leavell now has 503 career saves, third in school history and the fifth most among all active players
