BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - The Ball State women's tennis team played its first of two matches over spring break when it defeated Austin Peay on a neutral court Thursday afternoon.
With the win, the Cardinals improved to 5-4 overall while the Governors dropped to 3-8 on the year.
Ball State took the early 1-0 advantage over Austin Peay after earning the doubles point.

Isabel Tanjuatco were quick to exit court No. 2 with their 6-1 defeat against the Governor's Luca Bohlen and Pauline Bruns. In a tightly contested match on the top court, BSU's
Alana Bristow paired up with teammate
Chloe Brown winning the tiebreaker 7-6 (7-5) versus you-Hua Cheng and Denise Torrealba to claim the point.
In singles, the Cardinals earned victories on courts one, four and five all of which were three-set thrillers to clinch today's win.
Elena Malykh's match was earned by a score of 3-6, 7-5, 6-2 at No. 1 singles while Tanjuatco shined at the No. 4 spot, 6-2, 3-6, 6-1. Rounding out the singles victories was Bristow with her 6-0, 4-6, 6-2 take down on court No. 5.
The Ball State women's tennis team will wrap up play down south when it plays at Middle Tennessee on Saturday. First serve is at 4 pm ET.
