LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – 
The Lock Haven men's wrestling team won six of 10 bouts on the night including two tech falls and two major decisions, and the Bald Eagles extended their win streak with a hard-fought 24-13 victory over visiting Rider (5-8, 1-2 MAC) Thursday (Feb. 6) night in Mid-American Conference (MAC) action.
 
No. 27 Tucker Hogan (197 lbs.), No. 17 Gavin Hoffman (285 lbs.), No. 16 Anthony Noto (133 lbs.), No. 17 Wyatt Henson (141 lbs.), Nick Stampoulos (157 lbs.) and No. 31 Avery Bassett (174 lbs.) all won for the Bald Eagles.
 
With the win, Lock Haven improved to 11-5 overall and moved to a perfect 4-0 in MAC duals.
 
The victory extended Lock Haven's win streak to seven, and the Bald Eagles remained unbeaten at home with a 5-0 mark.
 
Noto and Henson posted tech falls, while Hoffman and Bassett won by major decision.
 
Stampoulos secured a thrilling upset win, and Bassett sealed the team victory to headline the night.
 
Tonight's dual started at 197 pounds, and the Bald Eagles benefitted from a hot start, with Hogan and Hoffman posting back-to-back wins at 197 and 285 pounds, respectively. Hogan topped Brock Zurawski 9-3, and Hoffman majored Collin French 14-4 behind a dominating effort from start to finish.
 
Rider posted a major decision at 125, but Lock Haven responded quickly - thanks to back-to-back tech falls from Noto and Henson. Noto teched Will Betancourt, 18-3, in 6:43 at 133 pounds, and Henson needed just 4:48 to roll by Branden Palcko, 21-5, at 141.
 
The Noto and Henson techs pushed The Haven's team lead to 17-4 at the break as the Bald Eagles won four of the first five bouts in the meet. Three of those four Lock Haven victories came with bonus points.
 
Coming out of the break, Lock Haven's Lucas Kapusta dropped a hard-fought decision in a clash of two nationally-ranked 149-pounders. Kapusta, ranked No. 32, was edged by No. 15 Sammy Alvarez, 9-3.
 
The Bald Eagles quickly bounced back with a win at 157 as Stampoulos upset No. 27 Colton Washleski, 9-4. Stampoulos took control at the opening whistle and never looked back in the all-important victory that stretched the Lock Haven lead to 20-7.
 
At 165, Rider's 30th-ranked Enrique Munguia edged out Caden Dobbins, 9-5, in a hard-fought bout.
 
Bassett's major decision at 174 sealed the team victory for the Bald Eagles. Ranked No. 31, Bassett cruised by Michael Wilson 15-6 and extended Lock Haven's lead to 24-10.
 
In the final bout of the night at 184, Rider's Isaac Dean, ranked No. 14, slipped by No. 23 Colin Fegley, 5-2.
 
Lock Haven will head to Clarion Saturday looking to extend their streak to eight, and the Bald Eagles eye a 12th win this season.

Edinboro, Pa. – Trailing 17-13 in the dual Brody Evans and Jared McGill recorded back-to-back falls to lift the Edinboro wrestling team to a 25-17 victory Thursday night in MAC dual action inside McComb Fieldhouse.

Joey Lyons and Nick Lodato were scoreless after the first period, with Lodato getting on the board with an escape in the second. Lyons escaped at the start of the third to tie the score and earned the 4-1 decision with a takedown with 19 seconds remaining.

Daniel Buckanvich kept the Vikings going, scoring a takedown of Aden Roe 26 seconds into the first. He rode out the first and opened the second with a reversal to push his lead to 5-0. A second stall call on Roe made it 6-0 heading to the third. Bucknavich scored a takedown in the third and picked up the riding time point to earn the major decision.

At 125, Cleveland State's Ben Aranda used a pair of first-period takedowns to build a 6-2 lead. Chris Vargo cut the lead to 6-3 after a quick second-period escape, but a four-point third delivered Aranda a 10-3 decision.

Colton Camacho got the Scots on the board. He scored a takedown with just 14 seconds left in the opening period to grab a 3-0 lead. Jake Manley reversed Camacho to start the second, but Camacho tallied a reversal of his own to go up 5-2. After a Manely escape, Camacho scored another late-period takedown to extend his advantage to 8-3 after two. Camacho notched another reversal to start the third and used a stall point and the riding time point to close out the 12-4 major decision.

Anthony Ferraro tipped the scales in favor of the Fighting Scots getting to his offense early with a takedown and four near-fall points to take a 7-0 lead after the first. He got out quick in the second and then scored another takedown before putting Ethan Mitchell on his back for the fall in 4:08 to level the dual at 10-10 at the intermission.

Colin Roberts trailed AJ Parish 1-0 heading to the final period, but Roberts tied the score with an escape just 10 seconds into the final frame. Roberts notched the match's only takedown with 1:06 remaining and held off a late push from Parish for the 4-2 decision, giving Edinboro their first lead of the night 13-10.

Ryan Burgos And Douglas Terry put on an offensive display in the first period, with each wrestler scoring a takedown and an escape to make it 4-4 after one. Terry escaped to start the second and then rode out Burgos in the third to claim a 6-4 decision with the riding time point.

Tate Geiser used an eight-point third period, including a pair of takedowns to score a 12-2 major decision over Max Kirby, putting the Vikings back in front 17-13.

Brody Evans and Ronald Dimmerling were tied 1-1 at the end of regulation, with each wrestler scoring an escape. In sudden victory, Evans scored the takedown and put Dimmerling to his back, scoring a fall that put the Scots ahead 19-17.

Jared McGill made his return to the mat on Thursday and wasted little time getting to his offense. He took down JR Reed just 22 seconds into the bout and finished the fall in 48 seconds, lifting the Scots to a 25-17 dual win.
