MAC Announces Week Six Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week Honorees

Blanca Berges, Freshman, Buffalo
Freshman Blanca Berges came up big for the Bulls as she clinched match point with a 4-6, 6-2, 7-5 victory at fifth singles to help lead Buffalo to a massive win over Colorado State on Friday afternoon. With the weekend results, the Madrid native improves to 10-2 on the season.
 
Co-Doubles Team of the Week
Neha Guru/Jacklynka Scholten, Toledo
Neha Guru and Jacklynka Scholten went undefeated at the No. 1 doubles position on a road trip weekend to Chicago. Guru and Scholten helped clinch the doubles point in both matches. Against UIC, the freshman due recorded a 6-3 win on the No. 1 court. On Saturday, Guru and Scholten took down the No. 4 ranked doubles pair in Division III rankings, S. Mikos/O. Mikos, en route to a 5-2 team win over the current No. 1 ranked Division III team and defending National Champions, UChicago.
 
Lola Glantz/Audrey Smitek, Western Michigan
Glantz and Smitek went 2-0 in doubles over the weekend. Against the Hoosiers they were slotted at No. 1 and earned a 6-3 win over Marina Fuduric and Sarah L'allier to help the Broncos earn the doubles point. Against the Panthers they also were slotted at No. 1 and earned a 6-3 win over Aleyla Wooten and Michelle Kostadinova.
