MORGANTOWN, W. Va. -
The Toledo women's tennis team wrapped up its weekend with a 5-0 win over Temple on Sunday afternoon in Morgantown, W. Va. Junior Audrey Moutama clinched match point with a 6-4, 6-4 straight-set victory on the No. 1 singles court.


The Rockets (5-1) earned the point in doubles play, after grabbing victories on the No. 1 and No. 2 courts. Freshmen Jacklynka Scholten and Neha Guru picked up the win on the No. 1 court 6-0, while freshman Annika Munson and sophomore Gaby Rondon clinched the doubles point and a 1-0 lead on the No. 2 court, 6-4.

Rondon helped the Rockets get off to a good start in singles play by tallying a straight-set victory on the No. 2 court to put Toledo ahead, 2-0. Scholten picked up her sixth-consecutive win in singles play with a straight set victory on the No. 3 court, 6-2, 6-3.  On the No. 1 court, Moutama earned the 6-4, 6-4 win over Temple's Ozturk to clinch the victory for the Rockets and take a 4-0 lead.

Guru took down Temple's Andreoni on the No. 4 singles court in three sets, 6-1, 2-6, 6-3 to put Toledo on top 5-0. The No. 5 and No. 6 courts went unfinished.

Toledo (5-1) will travel to Illinois and take on UIC on Friday, Feb. 21 at 12:00 p.m. and the University of Chicago on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 2:00 p.m.


Western Michigan 5, Cleveland State 2
KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan women's tennis team split its weekend matches, falling to Youngstown State 7-0 on Saturday before rebounding with a 5-2 win over Cleveland State at West Hills Athletic Club. 

YSU earned the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 and was leading at No. 3 when that match was abandoned. In singles, no Bronco was able to win a set. 

CSU also took the doubles point from WMU after a pair of 7-5 wins at No. 1 and No. 2. The match was tied heading into doubles, as the Broncos were awarded a point because Cleveland State could only field five singles competitors. 

Freshman Frida Weijerman gave the Broncos the lead with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Melliz Mustafa at No. 5. CSU's Sima Heren tied it at 2-2 after she defeated Lola Glantz at No. 1 6-3, 7-5. Freshman Sienna Osborne broke the tie after a 7-5, 6-0 win at No. 4 over Filippa Fogner before graduate student Polina Khotko secured the match victory with a 6-1,  7-6 (7-5), win against Jenna Redmile at No. 3. WMU's fifth and final point came at the hands of graduate transfer Christine Gouws, who beat CSU's Tereze Vevere 2-6, 7-6 (7-3), 1-0 (12-10).

Western Michigan heads to Indiana University on Friday morning to take on the Hoosiers at 11 a.m. and then return to Kalamazoo to host Eastern Illinois on Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
