MAC Announces Women's Lacrosse Weekly Awards

Co-Offensive Player of the Week
Zayda Crumpton, Kent State
Junior, Hershey, Pa. (Red Land)

Crumpton played a huge role in Kent State's season-opening win at George Mason, tallying three goals, three assists and eight draw controls in the 13-9 W. Despite suffering defeat in the second game of the weekend, Crumpton led the Flashes with two goals and four draw controls.

Co-Offensive Player of the Week
Katie Grottenthaler, Youngstown State
Sophomore, Corning, N.Y. (Corning Painted-Post)

Grottenthaler started off her sophomore season by scoring a career-high four goals, getting four draw controls, causing a career-high two turnovers, and collecting two ground balls vs. Lindenwood.

Defensive Player of the Week
Tara McHugh, Youngstown State
Freshman, Blauvelt, N.Y. (Tappan Zee)

McHugh had team-highs in ground balls (3) and caused turnovers (3) in her collegiate debut vs. Lindenwood.

Goalkeeper of the Week
Meredith Leavell, Detroit Mercy
Senior, Sarasota, Fla. (IMG Academy)

Senior Meredith Leavell made a career-high 22 saves and posted a 56.4% save percentage with three ground balls and a caused turnover against San Diego State.

The 22 saves are the second most in school history, behind only the 25 Brett Yenger had at Longwood in 2009.
