Volleyball Heads into Final Week of the Regular Season

The Ball State women's volleyball team closes the 2025 regular season this week with a pair of home matches versus Central Michigan ... The Cardinals and Chippewas will square off Thursday and Friday at 6 p.m. inside Worthen Arena.

CURRENTLY IN THE MAC: Ball State clinched the 2025 MAC regular season championship and the No. 1 seed in the upcoming MAC Volleyball Championship hosted by Bowling Green (Nov. 21-23) with last Thursday's sweep at Eastern Michigan ... BSU clinched the outright league title Friday, moving to 15-1 in MAC play with its 3-1 victory over the Eagles ... This past week also saw Western Michigan (12-4 MAC) and Ohio (11-5 MAC) lock in their spots into the MAC tournament ... Toledo is currently the No. 4 seed at 10-6, while Miami sits at No. 5 at 9-7 ... Akron and Bowling Green are tied for the sixth and final spot at 8-8.
 
BALL STATE ALL-TIME: Ball State enters Thursday's match versus Central Michigan with a 1053-667-2 (.612) all-time record in women's volleyball ... Ball State became the 44th program in NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball history to reach 1,000 wins with a sweep of Central Michigan on Sept. 22, 2023 ... All-time, the Cardinals have captured 12 MAC West Division Championships, 11 MAC Regular Season Championships and eight MAC Volleyball Championship titles ... Ball State has made 11 appearances in the NCAA Tournament, including three of the last six seasons ... BSU has also earned two bids into the National Invitational Volleyball Championship (NIVC).
 
WHEN IN WORTHEN: The Cardinals boast a 330-104 (.760) all-time record inside Worthen Arena, including an 84-41 (.672) mark against non-conference foes and a 246-63 (.796) ledger versus league foes ... Overall, no MAC opponent owns a winning record inside Worthen Arena, as the Cardinals have at least a .630 winning percentage against all league schools on its current home floor ... Ball State closes out its 2025 home slate Nov. 13-14 with back-to-back matches versus Central Michigan which is 6-27 all-time in Worthen Arena.
 
BALL STATE IN THE MAC: With a 15-1 record in MAC play this season, Ball State maintains its status as the winningest program in league play with a 474-226 (.677) all-time MAC mark ... Western Michigan is second on the list, five matches behind the Cardinals at 469-231 (.670), while this weekend's opponent Central Michigan is seventh at 353-348 (.504).
 
ABOUT THE 10-0 START TO #MACtion: While it's season-long 10-match winning streak came to an end vs. Ohio (Oct. 25), Ball State's 10-0 start to MAC play tied as the third-best league start in program history ... The Cardinals also won its first 10 conference matches of the 1997 campaign ... Ball State has also gone undefeated in league play twice, boasting an 18-0 mark in 1993, followed by a 17-0 record in 1994.
 
SCOUTING BALL STATE:
• The Cardinals enter the final week of the regular season with a 19-9 overall record, including a 15-1 record in Mid-American Conference play ... Ball State clinched the 2025 MAC regular season championship and the No. 1 seed in the upcoming MAC Volleyball Championship with a pair of wins at Eastern Michigan last week.
• Ball State remains the top-ranked MAC squad in the latest NCAA RPI Rankings, coming in at 52 this week, one spot better than last week ... The Cardinals were 77th in the initial RPI rankings on Oct. 5 and climbed to as high as 45th in the Oct. 19 release.
• Ball State enters the CMU series as one of the nation's top terminating teams, ranking second nationally with 1,485 total kills ... Only Towson (1,537) has more kills than the Cardinals ... 462 of Ball State's kills, which is sixth nationally, have come from the arm of sophomore outside Carson Tyler who also ranks first in the MAC and 39th nationally with a 4.20 kills-per-set average.
• In addition, the Cardinals lead the MAC and rank 30th nationally with a .260 team attack percentage ... Junior middle Camryn Wise is first in the league and 27th nationally with a .399 rate of success, while junior setter Lindsey Green ranks 106th nationally with 794 total assists and owns a 7.28 assists-per-set average.
 
 
Western Michigan Broncos (15-13, 12-4 MAC)
The Western Michigan volleyball team closes out the regular season this week with a two-match series at Ohio.

BYE BYE BYE
Western Michigan wraps up the regular season this week with a two-match series at Ohio. The Broncos and Bobcats come into the week separated by just one game in the race for the No. 2 seed and a bye in the MAC Tournament. WMU needs to win just one of the two contests in order to secure a bye to the semifinals of next week's tournament.

LAST TIME OUT
WMU is coming off a sweep of Kent State in its final home games of the season last weekend, making it three victories in a row and eight in the last nine for the Broncos. Leah Richmond posted two more double-doubles, with Mary Clare Brusek's 4.33 kills per set on a .413 hitting percentage, pacing the attack. The defense was anchored by Reeghan Boyer's 5.67 digs per set, which helped the senior become the fourth different Bronco to win a MAC Player of the Week award in 2025. 

DOUBLE-DOUBLE MACHINE
Leah Richmond added two more double-doubles to her ledger over the weekend, making it six in a row and 23 overall this season. The redshirt freshman sits atop the conference in both total assists (1,081) and assists per set (9.92), with her total assists ranking second in all of NCAA Division I. In MAC play, Richmond has upped her assist numbers to a league-high 10.51 per set. She also enters the week ninth in the league in digs per set with 3.27.

DIGGING IN DEFENSIVELY
Western Michigan leads the MAC in both total digs (1,925) and digs per set (17.34), with its total digs ranked third nationally and digs per set average eighth-best in the nation. Three Broncos rank in the top 10 in the league in digs per set, with Elana Erickson fifth (3.78), Leah Richmond ninth (3.27). and Reeghan Boyer 10th (3.14). 

ACES UP HER SLEEVE
One of the top servers in the conference, Molly Brown leads the MAC in service aces per set (0.42) and her 43 total aces are second-most in the league and 23rd-most in NCAA Division I. Brown is averaging a league-best 0.47 aces per set in MAC play, with Maddie Kmetz ranked sixth at 0.35.

BRONCO BLOCK PARTY
The Broncos tied their season high with 16 blocks in Saturday's sweep of Kent State, led by eight apiece from Amanda Glanton and Leah Richmond. Glanton is the conference leader in both total blocks (96) and blocks per set (1.52) in MAC play.

The Ohio volleyball team (13-15, 11-5 MAC) concludes the 2025 regular season this weekend for a pivotal matachup for the No. 2 seed at the 2025 MAC Tournament next week in Bowling Green. The week begins on Thursday, Nov. 13 when the Bobcats host Western Michigan (15-14, 12-4 MAC). First serve is set for 6 p.m. ET. Ohio wraps up the regular season on Friday, Nov. 14 against WMU at 6 p.m. ET. Both matchups will take place inside the Convocation Center and be seen on ESPN+, with Friday set to serve as Ohio's Senior Night with a pregame ceremony prior to first serve. 

Ohio is coming off a 2-0 week that saw Ohio take down NIU on the road to win their 11th matchup out of their last 12 and secure a spot in next week's MAC Tournament in Bowling Green. Ohio took the first match, 3-1, before coming back from two sets down on Saturday to reverse sweep the Huskies in five sets. 

On Saturday at NIU, Ohio finished with 55 kills, five aces, seven blocks, 47 assists, and 59 digs. Northern Illinois finished 52 kills, eight aces, 13 blocks, 44 assists, and 61 digs. Juniors Gentry Brown and Emily Waddell both led the team with 10 kills each. Brown also finished with two assists, two aces, one block, seven digs, and 12.5 points. Waddell also contributed three blocks, two digs, and 12.0 points. Juniors Olivia GardnerTorre Kildow and freshman Bailey Blair all tallied eight kills each for Ohio.

Women's volleyball hits the road for its last regular-season series of the 2025 slate at Akron this weekend. The Rockets currently sit at fourth in the Mid-American Conference standings with a 19-9 (10-6 MAC) record and look to clinch their fifth-straight appearance in the MAC Tournament. Sophomore libero Grace Freiberger leads the conference in digs (4.67 digs/set) and ranks fourth in service aces (0.39). Olivia Heitkamp paces the offense, firing off 3.34 kills/set while Kelsey Smith is third in the league in assists (9.65 assists/set).

With a weekend sweep at Central Michigan, Miami Volleyball has now won four straight, entering its final home weekend. The RedHawks host Eastern Michigan on Friday, Nov. 14, at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 15, at 4 p.m. Friday will be Miami's Cradle of Coaches game, and Saturday is Senior Day and Alumni Day. 

Miami senior Hayden Hicks and sophomore Kamryn Utley were named the Mid-American Conference Setter Pair of the Week following their performances last week, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon. 

This is the third MAC weekly award for the RedHawks this season.


Akron Zips (14-12, 8-8 MAC)
Akron concludes the regular season with the Toledo Rockets coming to James A. Rhodes Arena for a pair of games on November 14 and 15. The Zips will also honor their four seniors on Saturday, November 15.

Double-Doubles
Delaney Gash leads the Zips with eight double-doubles after posting a 28-kill, 12-dig performance vs EMU on Oct. 31. Martina Villani has recorded seven, with the most recent coming at Bowling Green on Nov. 8 with a 37-assist, 20-dig performance.  Vanessa Del Real has one after recording a 17 dig, 10 assist performance at Youngstown State on Sept. 18.

What's Next?
Depending on results from the weekend, the Zips could find themselves traveling to Bowling Green to battle in the Mid-American Conference Volleyball Tournament for the first time since 2019.


Bowling Green Falcons (14-14, 8-8 MAC)
The Bowling Green State University volleyball team will conclude the regular season this weekend with a pair of matches against the Buffalo Bulls. The Falcons and Bulls will begin the weekend on Friday (Nov. 14) with a 6 p.m. start before wrapping up the regular season on Saturday (Nov. 15) at 4 p.m. For Bowling Green, BGSU enters the weekend tied for sixth in the MAC standings, aiming to clinch a spot in the MAC Tournament. Both matches between the Falcons and Bulls will be available to stream on ESPN+.

First Serve 
  • Bowling Green will conclude the regular season this weekend against the Buffalo Bulls on the road with a pair of matches.
  • The Falcons enter the weekend with an 8-8 MAC standing, on the bubble of the MAC Tournament will the team's postseason status still to be determined. Scenario explanations can be found on Page 4. The Falcons won't be able to clinch on Friday due to the tiebreaker system with results from Saturday needing to be known for the final KPI Conference Rankings. 
  • Three teams have clinched spots in the MAC Tournament so far with Ball State, Western Michigan and Ohio being in going into the final week of the regular season.
  • BGSU heads into the weekend with a 12-match winning streak over Buffalo all-time with the Bulls' last win in the series coming during the 2019 season. 
  • As a team, the Falcons currently rank 15th in the nation for team total blocks with 257.5 while ranking second in the MAC for blocks per set with a mark of 2.36.
  • Individually, Helen Wilford leads the team in total blocks with 124, tied for 20th in the nation. As for the MAC, Wilford ranks fourth for blocks per set with an average of 1.16 while her total blocks rank third. 
  • For the season, Bowling Green has registered 1,280 assists, ranking 19th in the nation, led by setter Amanda Otten's 747.
  • The Falcons also ranked in the top 25 in the nation for team kills with 1,369, tied for 21st in the country. 
  • The top 50 in the nation list for Bowling Green concludes with being 41st in the nation for the team total attacks with 3,698. 
  • The Falcons have established themselves as one of the stronger defensive teams in the MAC. As a unit, the Falcons rank third in the MAC during the conference schedule for blocks per set, averaging 2.34 per set. Similarly, the Falcons are third in the MAC during the conference slate for opponent hitting percentage, holding MAC opponents to a mark of .182. 
  • Bowling Green is coming off the team's first reverse sweep of the season, coming back from down 2-0 to beat Akron on Nov. 8. The win also marked the first five-set win at home for the Falcons this season. 
MAC Tournament Scenarios
For the Falcons, the team is fighting for a spot in the MAC Tournament during the final weekend of the regular season. BGSU enters tied with Akron for sixth in the standings, but could climb as high as fourth or fall as low as eighth with much of the standings still undecided. For tiebreakers, the MAC will utilize a new system this year. The first step will be winning percentage against tied teams. The second step will be using the KPI Conference Rankings found at Faktorsports.com. Entering the weekend, the Falcons rank sixth in the KPI. 

Otten Filling The Stat Sheet
In the five-set comeback victory over Akron, Amanda Otten missed a triple-double by a single dig, finishing with 45 assists, 11 kills and nine digs. While Otten was a dig short of what would have been her third career triple-double, she did manage to log her team-leading eighth double-double of the season. Over the last five matches, Otten has registered three double-doubles since her return to the lineup. Over the five-match stretch, Otten has totaled 145 assists, 46 digs and 15 kills for the Falcons. 

Andrews Moving Up Record Book
Jessica Andrews once again moved up in the BGSU record books. With nine total blocks over the two matches, Andrews pushed her career total blocks to 449. The mark moved her past Lori Hilton for seventh on the all-time blocks list. Andrews is now third during the Rally Scoring Era for all career block marks with 56 solo, 393 block assists and 449 total blocks. As for the all-time lists, her 393 block assists rank fifth in addition to her now seventh spot for total blocks. 


Buffalo Bulls (9-16, 6-10 MAC)
The University at Buffalo women's volleyball team (9-16, 6-10 MAC) will host the Bowling Green Falcons (14-14, 8-8 MAC) for the final weekend of conference play and a trip to the MAC Tournament on the line. Friday's match will begin at 6 p.m. with Saturday's match at 4 p.m. Both matches will be streamed on ESPN+.

The Bulls are looking for their first win over the Falcons since Nov. 8, 2019, when they won at home, 3-1. Bowling Green has won the last 12 meetings over Buffalo. Head Coach Scott Smith is 1-13 against the Falcons with his lone win coming in his first season at the helm.

Last weekend, the Bulls split their matches at Toledo as they won a thrilling match on Friday night, 3-2. After dropping the first set, the Bulls rallied to win the next two sets. The Rockets forced a fifth set, but the Bulls were victorious behind the efforts of Emerson MatthewsManoela ForlinMaddie Mitchell and Sadie Gladhill. For the second time this season, three Bulls recorded double-doubles in the same match. Matthews finished with a match-high 25 kills and 13 digs as Forlin added 21 kills and 18 digs. Mitchell tallied a match-high 42 assists with 24 digs as Gladhill had a career-high 25 digs. Keira Kleidon totaled 19 digs. Mitchell, Matthews, Forlin, Gladhill and Kleidon all finished with double figure digs. In the win, the Bulls totaled 112 digs, this was the first time since Oct. 29, 2022, against Central Michigan that the Bulls reached 100+ digs in a match.

The last time two Bulls had 20+ kills in a match was on Oct. 22, 2024, against Akron where Katrin Trebichavska and Manoela Forlin did so with 23 kills each.

As a team on the weekend, the Bulls finished with 20.75 digs per set, which was the best in the conference. UB entered last week just averaging 14.26 digs per set. Toledo was second on the week with 19.25 digs per set.

MAC TOURNAMENT SCENARIOS
Following last weekend's results, the Bulls are still alive to make the MAC Tournament. UB will need the following results to occur:
  • (8) Buffalo wins both matches against (7) Bowling Green
  • (9) Central Michigan loses one match to (1) Ball State
  • (4) Toledo beats (6) Akron twice
If these results were to occur, there would be a three-way tie between Buffalo, Akron, and Bowling Green with a conference record of 8-10. The next tie breaker would be record against one another, which the Bulls would be ahead:
  • Buffalo (3-1)
  • Akron (2-2)
  • Bowling Green (1-3)
UB would qualify for the MAC Tournament and sneak in with the final spot as the 6-seed. Currently, the Bulls are the 8-seed at 6-10 as Akron is the 6-seed (8-8) with Bowling Green at 7 (8-8).

ABOUT THE BULLS
• Junior Manoela Forlin has 10+ kills in 18 of the 25 matches this season.
• Last week at Toledo, Emerson Matthews was the best offensive player on the week as she was first in total kills (43), kills per set (5.38), total points (46.0) and points per set (5.75).
• In just conference play, Emerson Matthews is top-10 in the MAC in total kills (240), kills per set (3.87), total points (275.5) and points per set (4.44).
• Sophomore middle blocker Ava Kanj has recorded 27 total blocks in the last nine matches, good for 0.79 blocks per set.
• Preseason All-MAC honoree Manoela Forlin and freshman Emerson Matthews have been the Bulls' one-two punch on the offensive attack. The duo has combined for 657 kills, which is 57.2% of the Bulls' total kills on the season. This is the highest rate in the MAC as Ball State's Carson Tyler and Noelle VanOort make up 52.0% of the Cardinals' kills are just behind for second.
• Maddie Mitchell has 13 double-doubles on the season. Mitchell has recorded double-doubles in nine of the last 12 matches against Ohio (10/4), Akron (10/7), Central Michigan (10/10) and Eastern Michigan (10/23-24), Akron (10/28), Northern Illinois (10/31) and Toledo (11/7-8).
• The Bulls are 27-6 in sets where they reach 15 first, but are 10-52 when the opposition gets to 15 first.


Central Michigan Chippewas (9-19, 6-10 MAC)
Central Michigan closed out the season in McGuirk Arena with two matches against Miami (OH). The Chippewas dropped the Friday night match, 2-3, and on Saturday, 1-3. Entering the weekend in Muncie, the Chippewas will need to sweep the regular season champions, Ball State to keep their chances of making the MAC Tournament alive.

For that to happen:
- CMU needs to win two in Muncie to get to 8-10
- Akron needs to get swept at home against Toledo, and Bowling Green needs to get swept at Buffalo
- If Bowling Green finishes 8-10, they hold the tiebreaker over CMU, knocking CMU out
- If either Bowling Green or Akron wins a game, CMU cannot make the tournament.


REJMENT ROLLIN'
On Saturday against Akron, Natalia Rejmnet posted her fifth-straight double-double her 6th of the 2025 season and 26th of her career. At Kent State, Rejment totaled 27 kills over the four sets (3.86/set) and 22 digs (3.14/set). The double-double on Thursday was followed up by a 10K, 9D performance on Friday. Rejment has hit .216 across MAC play and in the five-straight double-double stretch, hit .284 with 4.65 kills/set and 3.65 digs/set. Akron faced no chance against the Polish power house. Rejment hit .373 across the two matches against the Zips, highlighted by a .500 with a 19 kills & 10 dig performance. Friday night was a 14 kills/12 dig showing for Nat, giving her a weekend total of 33 K/22 D. Dating back to October 10th at Buffalo, Rejment has killed 79 balls and hit .284 with her five-straight double-doubles. In her 17 kill and 15 dig game to open the stretch in New York, Rejment hit just .170 but has hit +.250 in the last four matches. Nat enters the games at Kent State with 3.46 kills/set, 3.12 digs/set and 4.07 points/set since MAC play has started. The last Chippewa to record five or more straight double-doubles was Savannah Thompson in the 2021 season. Thompson had 6 straight to start her senior campaign and ended the 2020 season with nine straight, setting the program record for an outside hitter at 15-straight. 

MILESTONE WATCH
Entering the matches agaisnt Ohio, Abby Olin and Natalia Rejment are closing in on some high career milestones. Olin is three blocks away from reaching the 250 career blocks mark,the 68 solo blocks that Olin currently has recorded ranks her third in program history since rally scoring in 2001. She has tallied 247 total blocks in her four year playing career thus far. Those blocks rank her 8th in program history with seven regular season matches to go in 2025. In 2024 Olin tallied 115 blocks and set the single-season program record with 36 solo blocks.

Rejment, who has been on a tear for Central Michigan enters the matches with the Bobcats with 789 career kills. If Rejment can reach the 1,000 kill mark she will find herself in the top-10 in program history for career kills. The same goes for digs for Rejment, as she enters the mid-week with 939.

SINCE MAC PLAY MAC STATS
Throughout conference play, Central Michigan ranks third in the MAC with 77 service aces, and 1.75/set. Brooklyn Conner leads the MAC with a .422 hitting percentage with 57 kills in her 27 sets played through conference play. Rejment ranks sixth in the conference with 3.39 kills/set, and fourth with 3.95 points/set. Keelyn Muell enters the matches back at home with 10.18 assists/set, good for third best in the conference. Central Michigan hit .361 as a team on Friday against the Zips which is the second highest hitting percentage in a match this season throughout MAC play across all teams in the conference. Against Akron on Friday, October 17th, Central Michigan set a new program record for kills in a three-set match. CMU recorded 56 kills, surpassing the previous record of 54 set on November 4th, 2010. In that same match, the 50 assists were also in the best in three sets in MAC play by any team. Taylor Cripe hit .625 against Kent State on October 24th, the second highest by any player in a three-set match in MAC play. Grace Thomas holds the third-best hitting percentage in any match with a .647 against Kent State in four sets. 

DOUBLE LIBERO RUN
Central Michigan has been running both Hannah Langton and Rainey Weidman at the libero position since matches in Buffalo. In those four matches the two have combined for 58 digs (4.46/set). Langton held down the libero position all season in 2024 for the Chippewas as a freshman, and both her and Weidman had been playing as a DS for the beginning of the season until Alina Anderson sustained an injury and the two have found a groove.  


Northern Illinois Huskies (11-14, 4-12 MAC)

The Huskies volleyball team will head to their final road games of the season as they travel to Kent State, November 14-15. Game times are set for 5 p.m. (Nov. 14) and 3 p.m. (Nov. 15) CT in Kent, Ohio with both games being broadcast on ESPN+.
 
The Huskies concluded the home portion of their schedule, falling in nine sets to Ohio last weekend. Autumn Flynn led all players with 12 kills, as she hit .308 in the final home match on November 8.  Rylea Alvin matched her career-best in blocks with nine while Naomi Dowd matched her career-best in blocks and attacking percentage against Ohio.


Eastern Michigan Eagles (12-17, 4-12 MAC)
The Eastern Michigan University volleyball team is set to travel to Oxford, Ohio, to conclude its 2025 season with a pair of matches against the Miami University RedHawks Friday-Saturday, Nov. 14-15, at Millett Hall. Friday's game will begin at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday's first serve is scheduled for 4 p.m. Both games will be streamed live on ESPN+.

LAST TIME OUT
Eastern dropped both matches against the Ball State Cardinals last weekend, losing, 3-0, Nov. 6, before honoring its 2025 senior class (Ashlynn BelcherKendal BonneyElla GrassonAbby StanfordBri Struck, and Ella Voorhees) following a 3-1 defeat at the hands of the MAC Regular Season Champions.  Bri Struck secured her second 10+ kill performance of the season with 10 against the Cardinals, Nov. 6, while AshleeKay Christensen notched her second game of the season with 10+ digs, recording 10.
 
Ava Siefke recorded her 11th double-double of the season in the second match against BSU, Nov. 7, as she led the team with 16 kills off a .400 hitting percentage and totaled 18 digs. Hatteras Welker tied a career high with 14 kills while setting a career best with six digs. Struck landed 10+ kills for the second consecutive match as she again posted 10. Voorhees secured her third double-double of the year, leading the team with 25 assists while pitching in defensively for 10 digs.

RECORD CHASING
The Eagles have several individuals with the opportunity to break into the program single-season top-10 in the Rally Scoring Era (2008-present) in the final two matches of the season. Hatteras Welker is approaching her 2024 block total of 135, which ties for second in program history in the rally scoring era (2008-present). Welker currently posts 127 total blocks, a figure that slots fifth in program annals as she needs eight more to tie her 2024 total and nine more to break it and hold sole possession of the second spot. Ava Siefke currently totals 364 kills as she needs just two more to tie Stacey Perinar (2014 - 366) for the 10th-most in single-season history and 95 more attacks to match Callie Minshew (2023 - 1,198) for the 10th-most. Ashlynn Belcher requires 37 assists to tie Jill Briner (2013 - 862) for the 10th-most in single-season annals. 
 
As a team, EMU's 238 blocks tie for the sixth-most in program history as it needs eight more to match the 2014 squad's 246 that ranks fifth. The Green and White's .180 hitting percentage stands 10th in the  team single season Rally Scoring Era while it needs 73 more kills to tie the 2015 team's 1,426 for the 10th-most, and 78 more assists to even the 1,317 the 2019 team totaled, a figure that also slots 10th on the single-season Rally Scoring Era leaderboards. 

RECENT CAREER-HIGHS
Both Hatteras Welker and Ava Siefke tied career highs in the match against Ball State, Nov. 7. Welker tied a career-best with 14 kills off an efficient .333 hitting percentage and Siefke matched her career-best total with 18 digs. Coincidentally, Siefke originally set her career-best mark of 18 against Ball State in her freshman season, Sept. 30, 2023. 

MILESTONES
Ella Voorhees recently eclipsed the 500-dig mark with 12 against Ball State, Nov. 7, as she is also and 129 assists from 1,000, currently totaling 871 in her four-year career. Ashlynn Belcher is 76 assists away from 2,000 in her career as she totals 1,926. Ava Siefke is 21 aces away from the century mark.

Kent State concludes the 2025 volleyball season at the M.A.C. Center with matches against Northern Illinois on Friday and Saturday. The senior class of Greta BologniniPaige McGee and Mackenzie McGuire will be recognized following Saturday's contest.

PREVIEWING THE FLASHES
Kent State (8-19, 3-14 MAC) has lost seven in a row, with the last five coming against the three teams at the top of the Mid-American Conference standings. Senior Mackenzie McGuire has been among the conference's best offensive players and ranks third in points per set (4.24) and kills per set (3.77). McGuire is No. 88 nationally with 351 total kills. She has recorded at least 10 kills in 20 of 26 matches. A pair of newcomers has made immediate impacts on Kent State's attack, as freshman Macie Moreland (176) and junior Mercedez Brown (161) are the next two. kills leaders. Junior Christina Vigil ranks fourth in the MAC at 9.18 assists per set and is No. 55 in the nation with 881 total assists. She also leads the team at 2.53 digs per set.

MCGUIRE MAKING HER MARK
The only four-year member of the program, outside hitter Mackenzie McGuire officially entered the Kent State record book on Sept. 6 against Morgan State as the 17th member of the 1,000 kills club. She also tallied the 500th dig of her career during the match. McGuire enters the final weekend of her career sixth on the Flashes all-time kills list with 1,266 and needs 20 to tie Ashley Feutz (2005-08) for fifth. The Broken Arrow, Oklahoma native has been one of the most productive attackers in program history in terms of kills per set. McGuire's average of 3.44 is the third highest all-time.

BLOCK PARTY
With an average of 2.09 blocks per set, Kent State is having its most successful blocking season since 2021. Middle blocker Adalynn Ginley has made an immediate impact this fall after arriving to campus for the spring semester as a transfer from Marshall. Ginley ranks eighth in the MAC with 1.02 blocks per set. The block has picked up during conference play, as Kent State is averaging 2.24 per set against MAC competition. Middle blocker Nadia Miller leads the way with 1.10 blocks per set in league play, with Ginley (1.02 bps) and setter Christina Vigil (0.80 bps) close behind.
