Luciana Alvarado-Reid was stellar for Central Michigan on Sunday, contributing an important 39.200 all-around score in CMU’s victory over West Virginia in Mount Pleasant. The junior earned two event wins, highlighted by an impressive 9.925 on the uneven bars and 9.850 on the balance beam. Alvarado-Reid tied for third on the floor exercise with a 9.800 and shared fifth place with a 9.625 score on vault.

Guns' senior leadership was crucial to Kent State's improvement in the final two rotations of their season-opening tri-meet victory. Guns posted a 9.850 on beam, the joint-highest score across any event for Kent State, to claim first place in the event. She then concluded her meet with a 9.825 on the floor, earning her a second-place finish in the event behind teammate Dani Fuertez.
