MAC Announces Week 3 Women’s Soccer Player of the Week Winners

Offensive Player of the Week
Scout Murray, Ohio, Forward

Scout Murray led Ohio this week to a 5-0 victory over Valparaiso, notching a hat trick as the Bobcats picked up a victory in its home opener. 

Defensive Player of the Week
Celeste Sloma, Ohio, Goalkeeper
Junior, Columbus, Ohio (Worthington Kilbourne)

Celeste Sloma posted a shutout performance in Ohio’s 5-0 victory over Valparaiso. Sloma tallied one save and no goals allowed on one shot on goal to earn her second victory and shutout of the season.

Defensive Player of the Week
Dominique Popa, Miami, Goalkeeper
Sophomore, Odenton, Md. (Arundel)

Dominique Popa made eight saves in a 3-1 win over Northern Kentucky to start the week before acting as the backbone in a superb defensive performance against No. 21 South Carolina. She made four saves and continued her unbeaten run to start the season as she is 1-0-2. She had a .945 save percentage across the two games. She ranks third in the MAC for season save percentage with .883 and joint-second in saves per game with five.
