McLaughlin scored a first half buzzer beater which turned out to be the game winning goal in the Huskies 1-0 over Illinois State on Thursday. She again scored on Sunday as she opened the scoring in NIU's 2-1 win over Valparaiso in the fifth minute by getting past two defenders.

Akron redshirt junior goalkeeper Penelope Cuirinier was again stellar in goal this past week helping the Zips post their fourth and fifth consecutive shutouts with a pair of 1-0 victories. Cuirinier registered 10 saves on the week, including seven against Saint Francis on Sunday (Sept. 15) and three versus Cleveland State on Thursday (Sept. 12). She posted five stops in the initial stanza against Saint Francis when the Red Flash registered seven first-half shots and pulled in three saves against seven total shots against the Vikings.

Akron has now gone nearly 530 minutes (529:10) without surrendering a goal as Cuirinier and the Zips have posted the second-most consecutive clean sheets in program history. On the season, Cuirinier owns 20 saves with a 0.40 goals against average and a .909 save percentage.
