RedHawks Tabbed Favorites in Preseason Coaches' Poll

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Mid-American Conference announced on Wednesday the 2024 Field Hockey Preseason Poll, as voted on by the league's nine head coaches. Miami was selected as preaseason favorite to take home the regular season title, as well as the MAC Tournament Championship.

The RedHawks received 63 points and seven first place votes, while Appalachian State earned a first place vote and a total of 54 points to finish second in the poll. 

Newcomer to the conference, James Madison, was picked third with 49 points, followed by Kent State, Ohio, Ball State, Bellarmine, Longwood, and Central Michigan.

The RedHawks will look to capture their seventh straight tournament title, and at least a share of the regular season championship for the seventh consecutive time, while App State enters the 2024 season coming off of a share of its first regular season MAC championship. 

The MAC Field Hockey season begins on Friday, August 30th. The season will culminate with the MAC Field Hockey Championship, hosted by Miami University on November 6-9 in Oxford, Ohio.
