Akron’s Jones, Del Real, and Vytiskova Names to the CSC Academic All-District Volleyball Team
The 2024 Academic All-District ® Volleyball team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognized three University of Akron volleyball players, Karleighana Jones, Vanessa Del Real, and Eliska Vytiskova, for their achievements on the court and in the classroom.
The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a
starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and his/her current institution. Student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the institution’s games/ contests/ sets played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the games/ contests/ sets.
Ball State WVB Places Three on CSC Academic All-District Team
Three members of the Ball State women's volleyball program were named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District Women's Volleyball Team, as announced Tuesday (Dec. 17).

To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average. They must be at least a sophomore both academically and athletically and must have played in at least 90% of the team's sets or started at least 66% of the team's matches.
Wielonski earns the honor for the third straight season after helping lead the Ball State offense to a program record .267 attack percentage. A starter in all 32 matches, she dished out a team-high 950 assists and ranked sixth in the Mid-American Conference with an 8.33 assists per set average. She also served up a team-leading 53 service aces to finish her career with a program record of 197 aces. Her 4,972 career assists are second in program history.
Egenolf earns the honor for the first time in her career after playing in 29 of the Cardinals' 32 matches, including 16 starts. She ranked fifth on the squad with 129 kills for a 1.57 kills-per-set average. She was also fifth on the squad with 17 aces while ranking fourth with 127 digs. Egenolf also tallied 22 total blocks on the year.
Kennedy also earns the honor for the first time in her career after playing in 30 of the team's 32 matches, including 12 starts. She ranked second on the squad with 279 kills for a 2.74 kills-per-set average, while hitting .250. At the net, Kennedy tallied 43 total blocks with her seven solo blocks tying for third on the squad. She also collected 44 digs and served up one ace over the course of the season.
Buffal's Florin and Futey Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors
INDIANAPOLIS - The University at Buffalo women's volleyball team was represented by two student-athletes on the 2024 College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District Women's Volleyball Team, as announced by the organization.

Manoela Forlin were named to this year's Academic All-District team. Both Futey and Forlin earned Academic All-MAC honors this season, as well.

th in the MAC. She set program records for kills (27) and points (31.5) in a four-set match against Niagara.

Maria Futey appeared in all 119 sets, leading the team with 479 digs, good for 80
th in the country. She averaged 4.03 digs per set. Futey also finished with a reception percentage of .939 and with the second most assists on the team with 115.
Four Chippewa Volleyball Players Earn CSC Academic All-District
College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced its annual Academic All-District listing on Tuesday afternoon featuring four Central Michigan Volleyball players.
To qualify for this award, a student-athlete must hold a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher. Athletically, volleyball student-athletes must have either competed in 90 percent of their team's contests for the season or started at least 66 percent of the team's matches.

Tuesday's announcement marked the 12
th through 15
th CSC Academic All-District selections for CMU Volleyball, the first for each of the four Chippewas and the most in a season in program history.
Korba, named the first-ever MAC Setter of the Year for Central Michigan, ended the season with 1,137 assists, good for 12
th best in a single season. Korba earned MAC Setter of the Week twice in the 2024 season.
Olin earned Second Team All-MAC for the Chippewas and was named MAC Defensive Player of the Week one time as well, while also earning a spot on the 2024 All-Tournament Team for the MAC Tournament. Olin set the program record for single-season solo blocks with 36. Her 115 total blocks on the season are best for 7
th best in a single season.
EMU Volleyball Lands Four on CSC Academic All-District List
Eastern Michigan University volleyball student-athletes Hannah Blaney, Kendal Bonney, Abby Stanford, and Maddie Stayer were named to the College Sports Communicators Women's Volleyball Academic All-District team, the organization announced Tuesday, Dec. 17.
The 2024 Academic All-District® Volleyball teams, selected by CSC, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
To make the list, student-athletes had to post a cumulative undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.50 on a 4.0 scale. Participation wise, student-athletes must have competed in 90% of the team's total matches played or have started at least 66% of the team's total matches played.
Blaney made the list via her 4.00 GPA while playing in all of the team's 32 matches. Bonney’s accolade comes after posting a 3.75 GPA while seeing action in 30 contests. Stanford earned the honor with a 4.00 GPA and started 24 of the 32 total matches. Stayer currently holds a 3.70 GPA and played in 31 matches.
Stanford's selection marks her second consecutive as she was also named to the prestigious list following the 2023 season. Blaney, Bonney, and Stayer's honors mark their first since donning Block E.

Three RedHawks Earn Academic All-District Recognition

Chelsea Williams were named to the 2024 CSC Academic All-District Volleyball Team (NCAA Division I). The awards were announced by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Tuesday.
To qualify for a CSC academic award, a player must hold a 3.5 GPA or better and be a significant contributor to the team. Nominating and voting are privileges held exclusively by CSC members on behalf of student-athletes from throughout the NCAA, NAIA, two-year colleges, and Canadian institutions.
Hanson played in all 29 matches and started in 20 for the RedHawks. She finished the season averaging 2.23 digs (second on the team) and 0.26 service aces (fifth on the team). Lantz also competed in every match and started in 11 for the Red and White. She totaled 2.36 kills per set (second on the team) and 0.33 blocks per set (ninth on the team). Williams played in 27 matches and started in eight for Miami this year. She ranked first on the team with an average of 2.47 kills per set and also claimed eighth on the team with 0.35 blocks per set.
Hanson is a double major in psychology and sports management, holding a 3.59 GPA. In the past, she received the 2023 CSC Academic All-District and 2023 Academic All-MAC honors. Lantz is majoring in Human Capital Management and Leadership and holds a 3.71 GPA. Williams is majoring in kinesiology and carries a 3.81 GPA.
Northern Illinois’ Hoffmeier and Brandt Names to CSC Academic All-District Team
Two members of the Northern Illinois University volleyball program earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team for 2024.

Hoffmeier saw action in all 28 games for the Huskies this season, recording 496 digs to lead the team. Hoffmeier recorded 21 service aces and was credited with 83 assists. On November 16, 2024, Hoffmeier became the 13th Huskie to record 1,000 career digs. Hoffmeier recorded a career-best three service aces against Buffalo on November 2. This is Hoffmeier's second consecutive honor from CSC. Hoffmeier maintains a 4.00 grade point average (GPA) in Communication Studies with an emphasis on advocacy and public communication.
With action in 26 games, Brandt was third on the team in total blocks, with 34 blocks this season. Brandt recorded 55 kills this season, with a season-high against Ball State on October 26. Brandt recorded two career-highs this season, a 1.000% hitting percentage against Akron on October 4 and three assists against Harvard on September 13. Brandt maintains a 3.512 GPA in Business Administration.
Ohio’s Hoerlein, Gardner Named to the 2024 CSC Academic All-District Volleyball Team

Olivia Gardner, have been selected to the 2024 Academic All-District Volleyball Team, selected by the College Sports Communicators. The honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
Graduate student and middle blocker
Elizabeth Hoerlein earned her bachelor's degree in Marketing and Business Analytics, finishing with a 3.588 GPA. Hoerlein has chosen to continue her education in Ohio and is working towards earning her master's degree. During the 2024 season, she appeared in 29 matches, made 28 starts, and played in 113 sets. Hoerlein tallied 176 kills, 229.5 points, and recorded a .331 hitting percentage. Hoerlein also finished with 76.0 total blocks, including 57 block assists and 19 solo blocks. The graduate student ranked second on the team for blocks and fourth for kills and points.
Sophomore and middle blocker
Olivia Gardner currently has a 3.898 GPA and is working towards a bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology. During the 2024 season, Gardner appeared in 29 matches, made 24 starts, and played in 111 sets. She tallied 199 kills and 234.0 points and averaged 2.11 points per set and 1.79 kills per set. Defensively, Gardner finished with 58.0 total blocks, including 48 block assists and 10 solo blocks. The sophomore ranked third on the team for kills, points, and total blocks.
Three Rockets Named CSC Academic All-District

Taylor Alt,
Izzy Granger, and
Caylee Sharkey have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, it was announced on Tuesday.
Alt is a three-time Academic All-District selection, while Granger has earned the honor twice. Sharkey is a first-time honoree.
Alt carries a 3.928 GPA as a speech-language pathology major, Granger boasts a 3.970 GPA as an early childhood education major, while Sharkey owns a 3.668 GPA as an exercise science major.
Alt will move on to the ballot for Academic All-American. First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2025.
Four Broncos Named Academic All-District
For the third year in a row, four members of the Western Michigan volleyball team have been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Team. Fifth-year setter
Logan Case and fifth-year libero
Andelyn Simkins earned the honor for the third consecutive year, fifth-year outside hitter
Keona Salesman earned the accolade for the second straight season, and graduate student outside hitter
Anna Calcagno was a first-time honoree.
A French major with a 4.00 GPA, Case was recently named to the AVCA North All-Region First Team and was an All-MAC First Team selection for the fifth straight season after ranking second in the nation in assists per set (11.79) and third in total assists (1,379). Already WMU's all-time leader in assists entering 2024, Case became the Mid-American Conference's all-time assists leader in the MAC Championship match against Ball State. She collected 43 helpers in that contest and went on to earn MAC Championship Tournament MVP for the second straight year as the Broncos won their second straight tournament title and punched their ticket to their second straight NCAA Tournament. Case finished her Western Michigan career with 6,476 assists, fifth-most in NCAA Division I history.
Like Case, Simkins was recently named AVCA All-Region and was voted the MAC Defensive Player of the Year and to the All-MAC First Team for the second consecutive season. A Sports Management major with a 3.67 GPA, she led the MAC and was 20th nationally in total digs (562) and ranked second in the conference and 38th nationally with 4.80 digs per set. Simkins finished her career fourth in Western Michigan program history and eighth in MAC history with 2,262 digs.
A Biomedical Sciences major with a 3.97 GPA, Salesman paced Western Michigan in both total kills (362) and kills per set (3.18) this season. She totaled double-digit kills 20 times in 2024, and her 3.18 kills per set ranked as the ninth-best mark in the conference.
Owner of a 3.78 GPA, Calcagno graduated from WMU over the summer with a degree in Marketing. The graduate student recorded double-digit kills nine times this fall and finished tied for third on the Broncos in kills (247) and third in kills per set (2.75). Calcagno was also third on the team in both block assists (44) and total blocks (46).
Case and Simkins have been selected to advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot.
