Wyatt Henson, Lock Haven, Redshirt-Junior, 141 lbs.
The nationally-ranked Lock Haven wrestling team opened the season in style Sunday (Nov. 3) at the Princeton Open and it was redshirt-junior Wyatt Henson who led the way for the Bald Eagles. Ranked No. 28 nationally, Henson – a returning national qualifier went a perfect 4-0 on the way to the 141-pound title. He opened the day with a pair of tech falls. In the finals, Henson needed just 37 seconds to earn a pin and knock off No. 26 Kai Owen of Columbia for the title in upset fashion. Drew Davis, SIU Edwardsville, Freshman, 125 lbs.
Drew Davis opened his collegiate career with a victory over a nationally ranked wrestler, defeating No. 13 ranked Illinois' No. 17-ranked Ramazan Attasauov 8-5. His winning move was a takedown as time was about to expire in the third period.
