MAC Announces Week 7 Swimmer and Co-Divers of the Week Recipients

Swimmer of the Week
Abigail Daniel, Senior, Akron
Abigail Daniel set a school record, two meet records, two pool records, and recorded the second fastest time in NCAA in the 100-IM over the three-day Magnus Cup Invitational last week as part of her stellar performance. Abigail finished first in seven events, placing second in two and third in one other. Daniel broke the Akron school record in the 100-yard IM with a time of 54.19, breaking her school record of 54.21. She helped set Busbey Natatorium pool records in the 200-yard free relay and 400-yard free relay while setting meet records in the 100-yard IM and 50-yard fly. In the 100-yard IM, she set a new Akron school record with a time of 54.19 to clock in with the second fastest time in the NCAA and set a meet record in the process. Abigail would set another meet record, this time in the 50-yard fly with a time of 23.78, before helping set a pool record in the 400-yard free relay after swimming a time of 50.05 as the relay squad swam a 3:18.90. She helped set a pool record in the 200-yard free relay after swimming 22.68 to start the relay squad that finished first with a time of 1:30.62. Daniel also took first in the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:58.69 and helped the 400-yard medley relay team finish first with a time of 3:57.52 after swimming an individual time of 53.21. She'd also take gold in the 400-IM with a time of 4:17.69.
 
Co-Divers of the Week
Elizabeth Noble, Junior, Akron
Elizabeth Noble took home three first-place finishes at the Magnus Cup Invitational while earning two zone qualifying scores over the three-day event.   Elizabeth finished first in the 3-meter diving prelims with a PR and zone qualifying score of 310.45 while placing first in the 3-meter diving finals with a zone qualifying score of 290.15.   Noble would continue to place high at the Magnus Cup with 1st place finish & a top score of 247.90 in the 1-meter diving finals.

Astrid Pichardo, Sophomore, Ohio
Sophomore diver Astrid Pichardo helped lead the Ohio swimming and diving team last weekend at the TYR '85 Invite hosted by Liberty in Lynchburg, Va. On Friday in the 3-meter dive, Pichardo placed first, recording a score of 305.50. Then in the 1-meter event on Saturday, Pichardo placed second, finishing with a score of 261.65. Pichardo's effort helped the Bobcats finish the invite in second place.
 
Rebekah Knapp, Senior, Eastern Michigan
Eastern senior Rebekah Knapp earned her second first-place finish of the season in the 3m dive, as she tied a personal-best with a score of 317.25 in the Eagles’ 161-139 win over Oakland, Nov. 21. Her score ranks as the best in the conference thus far according to Swim Cloud. Knapp went on to place third in the 1m dive with a score of 267.00, earning her second NCAA Zone Diving Championships cut of the season. Overall, Knapp led all Eastern divers with 12 points in the meet.
