• Bowling Green opened midweek #MACtion with a 23-13 victory on Tuesday, Nov. 5 against Central Michigan. The Falcons possessed the ball for 35 minutes and 53 seconds, forcing three fumbles and piling up 388 yards of total offense. The Falcons forced a turnover on a strip sack by Anthony Hawkins on CMU’s first drive of the second half and Levi Gazarek scored his second career touchdown in as many games, while Jaison Patterson put the game away with a one-yard plunge in the fourth quarter.
• Miami won its fourth-straight game, defeating Ball State by a final score of 27-21 on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Brett Gabbert threw for 219 yards and three touchdowns for the RedHawks, while Keyon Mozee added 105 rush yards on a career-high 22 carries. Defensively, Matt Salopek tallied nine tackles while Corban Hondru and Raion Strader each collected interceptions in the first half.
• Highlighted by two special teams touchdowns, Ohio clinched bowl eligibility with a 41-0 victory over Kent State on Wednesday, Nov. 6. Graduate student quarterback Parker Navarro finished the day 14-of-24 with 142 yards through the air and added 41 yards on eight attempts on the ground. Nick Poulos also tossed a touchdown and added 22 yards on the ground late in the game. Special teams was responsible for two touchdowns in the third quarter, marking the first time since 2008 the Bobcats recorded multiple special teams touchdowns in a game.
• Northern Illinois turned a season-best three interceptions into touchdowns, scored on a 91-yard kickoff return and used a 21-point third-quarter outburst to earn a 42-28 Mid-American Conference win over Western Michigan Wednesday night at Waldo Stadium. Running backs Gavin Williams and Telly Johnson Jr. each scored twice as the Huskies improved to 5-4 overall, 2-3 in the MAC
• Tucker Gleason threw for three touchdowns in the fourth quarter and Avery Smith broke up EMU’s two-point conversion attempt on the game’s final play to lift Toledo to a 29-28 victory at Eastern Michigan on Saturday, Nov. 12. Toledo also earned bowl eligibility for a 15
th consecutive season, the eighth-longest streak in the country.
• Buffalo held off a late-charging Akron squad, 41-30, at InfoCision Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 12.. The Bulls improved to 5-4 overall and 3-2 in MAC play with the win. The defense set the tone early, forcing three first-quarter turnovers. It ignited an offense that scored on four straight possessions to take a 24-7 lead.
