MAC Field Hockey Co-Defensive Player of the Week

Laren, Netherlands (Luzac Hilversum)

Jansen was huge in the cage for the Flashes this weekend. She recorded nine saves in Friday's match against App State to keep Kent State in it up until the final buzzer. Jansen proved to be the hero in the Flashes' victory over Michigan State, tallying seven saves and willing Kent State to a penalty shootout despite being outshot 21-2 in the second half and overtime. She then forced three unsuccessful penalty attempts by the Spartans to lead Kent State to the shootout win.

MAC Field Hockey Co-Defensive Player of the Week
Sarah Beers, Graduate Student, Defender, James Madison
Oley, Pa. (Oley Valley)

Sarah Beers anchored a stingy JMU defense this past weekend that allowed just nine shots total to help the Dukes improve to 8-2 (3-0 MAC) and extend their winning streak to four. In a 5-1 win at Ohio on Friday, the Bobcats were limited to four shots and three corners. Sunday’s 2-1 triumph over Richmond saw the Dukes allow just five shots by the Spiders.
