Offensive Player of the Week
Madison Buckley, Opposite, Ball State
Ball State junior opposite Madison Buckley led all MAC players with a .595 (26-1-42) attack percentage last week while ranking fourth among all conference players with a 4.33 kills-per-set average. She was the top attacker in both matches at NIU, starting with 12 kills and a .550 (12-1-20) hitting percentage in Friday’s sweep. On Saturday, she once again led all players with 14 kills while connecting for a match-best .636 (14-0-22) rate of success. Buckley also collected four digs and two total blocks over the two wins.
Defensive Player of the Week
Natalia Rejment, Outside Hitter, Central Michigan
A defensive workhorse for CMU in their two wins over Buffalo is what best describes Natalia Rejment. Rejment totaled 31 digs in the first-place clinching sweep over the Bulls, with 21 in the Saturday afternoon thriller. In that same match, Rejment totaled four blocks, three of which were solo stuff. Not only did she control first ball contact and actions at the net, but the junior was able to score points for CMU, especially via service ace, as she charted four over the two matches as well.
Setter of the Week
Logan Case, Western Michigan
Logan Case racked up 152 assists (12.67/set) and 32 digs (2.67/set) and helped Western Michigan hit .323 on the way to a 3-0 week. The fifth-year setter started the week with the first of two double-doubles, picking up 30 assists and 10 digs in a sweep of NIU. Case then had 55 assists and nine digs in Thursday's four-set win over Akron and capped the week with a career-high 67 assists and 13 digs in another victory over the Zips. In the fourth set of Friday's match, Case became the first Bronco and third player in MAC history to reach 6,000 career assists.
