CLEVELAND – Mid-American Conference Commissioner Dr. Jon A. Steinbrecher has announced the promotion of Mike Vuraich to Senior Associate Commissioner and Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately.
Now in his fourth year with the Conference, Vuraich oversees the MAC’s financial operations, including budget management, human resources, and conference-wide financial oversight. He also maintains responsibility for the Conference’s operations in Cross Country, Track & Field and Men’s Tennis.
Vuraich received his undergraduate degrees in accounting and sports management from Ohio University in 2012. The Wickliffe, Ohio native is a Certified Public Accountant and has an extensive background in financial accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants.
In addition to his role with the Conference, Vuraich also serves on the Associate Board of the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission.

The Mid-American Conference office is based in Cleveland, Ohio as the Conference office serves 12 full-time members and offer championships in 22 sports.
Founded in 1946, the Mid-American Conference is an NCAA Division I, 12-member conference that sponsors 22 championships and is one of ten members of the Football Bowl Subdivison (FBS). With total enrollment of nearly 300,000 students, the league represents institutions of higher learning in five (5) states - Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, New York, and Ohio.
