MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan volleyball improved to 3-0 in the Mid-American Conference on Tuesday with a straight-sets victory over Eastern Michigan at McGuirk Arena.
It's CMU's first 3-0 start to MAC play since 2019 and it was the Chippewas' eighth consecutive victory over the Eagles.
The Chippewas, who are 12-3 overall, have not dropped a set in their three MAC matches. They entertain Ball State, which is 7-6, 0-2 MAC, in two league matches this weekend.
Natalia Rejment had nine kills to lead CMU, while
Krystina Kasson and
Abby Olin added eight apiece, and
Grace Thomas had six as the Chippewas handed Eastern Michigan its first conference loss, 25-19, 25-20, 25-15.
The Chippewas finished with a .303 attack percentage while limiting the Eagles (8-9) to .092.
CMU entered the match holding opponents to a MAC-best .139 hitting percentage and it marked the third straight time the Chippewas have held an opponent under .100 in a match.

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University volleyball team put together an electric comeback inside Savage Arena Tuesday night (Oct. 1). After falling behind in the match 2-0, including a 26-24 score in the second set, the Falcons powered back into the match with a third set win and a 26-24 win in the fourth set to force a fifth. The Falcons and Rockets battled back-and-forth, but BGSU finished off the match with a 6-0 run after trailing 10-9 to secure the set and the match comeback.
Bowling Green is now 3-0 in the MAC for the fifth time in the last seven seasons and 8-6 overall on the year. The Falcons have now won five straight inside Savage Arena, dating back to the 2017 season. All-time, BGSU has now registered 60 wins over the Rockets with a record of 60-18 in the rivalry.
