BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Hayden Wolff threw three touchdown passes to Blake Bosma, Jaden Nixon scored three more on the ground and Western Michigan held on to beat Buffalo 48-41 on Saturday.
The Broncos (4-3, 3-0 MAC) saw an 18-point third-quarter lead evaporate when Al-Jay Henderson sprinted up the middle 68 yards to tie the game at 38-all in the fourth quarter. But Jordin Parker returned the ensuing kickoff 75 yards, leading to Luka Zurak’s 37-yard field goal. On WMU’s next possession, Nixon found his way through the line and rushed 54 yards for a 48-38 lead with 2:43 to go.
Upton Bellenfant’s field goal with a minute left got the Bulls (4-3, 2-1) within seven. Buffalo thought it was going to get a final possession at the WMU 35 when the nation’s total tackles leader, linebacker Shaun Dolac, brought down Nixon on fourth-and-1. But a measurement gave the Broncos’ a game-clinching first down by the nose of the ball.
Wolff was 20 of 31 for 280 yards passing. Nixon finished with 112 yards rushing on 14 carries and Bosma had 85 yards receiving.
C.J. Ogbonna was 22-of-34 passing for 309 yards and two touchdowns for Buffalo.

YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) — Cole Snyder threw for three touchdowns but it was his sneak into the end zone late in the game that gave Eastern Michigan a 38-34 win over Central Michigan on Saturday.
The Eagles (5-2, 2-1 MAC) scored 22 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to rally from a 34-16 deficit. Snyder threw touchdown passes of 49 and 30 yards to Terry Lockett to get the Eagles within three points and they got the ball back with 1:42 left at their 38. On fourth down from inside the 1-yard line, Snyder powered into the end zone for the go-ahead score. The Chippewas’ final possession ended on downs at the EMU 45.
Snyder was 17-of-38 passing for 300 yards and was intercepted once. Markus Allen had 140 yards receiving with a touchdown and Lockett 100 yards. Delbert Mims III rushed for 90 yards on 21 carries, including a 38-yarder on EMU’s winning drive.
Marion Lukes rushed for 118 yards on 13 carries for CMU (3-4, 1-2), which led by 18 points early in the fourth quarter after Gavin Harris scooped up teammate Bert Emanuel Jr.'s fumble at the EMU 7 and scored. CMU also scored on a 67-yard fumble return by Jason Williams after a strip-sack of Snyder.
Redshirt freshman Tyler Jefferson made his first start at quarterback for CMU after Joe Labas was lost for the season with an injury last week against Ohio. Labas and Emanuel combined for just 98 yards passing with Emanuel throwing for a score. The two combined for 137 yards rushing, including a score by Emanuel.

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) — Connor Bazelak threw two touchdown passes, Harold Fannin Jr. had a 171 yards receiving and Bowling Green defeated Kent State 27-6 on Saturday, as the Golden Flashes’ nation-leading losing streak reached 16.
Fannin broke his sixth school tight end record, finishing the game with 1,714 career yards receiving, surpassing Alex Bayer’s career record. Bayer is Fannin’s position coach.
Bazelak was 23-of-27 passing for 313 yards with TD connections of 50 yards to Malcolm Johnson Jr. and 7 yards to Jamal Johnson. Terion Stewart added 124 yards on 24 carries.
Bowling Green (3-4, 2-1 MAC) led 20-6 at halftime, Kent State’s points coming on Will Hryszko field goals.
Tommy Ulatowski was just 7-of-27 passing for 78 yards and had two of the Golden Flashes’ (0-7, 0-3) three interceptions, all in the fourth quarter. Ky Thomas rushed for 121 yards on 14 carries.

OXFORD, Ohio (AP) — Brett Gabbert threw three touchdown passes and Keyon Mozee scored on a 58-yard run to lead Miami (Ohio) to a 30-20 victory over Ohio on Saturday.
Miami (Ohio) led 3-0 after one quarter on a 28-yard field goal by Dom Dzioban. Gabbert followed with second-quarter touchdown passes covering 14 yards to Reggie Virgil midway through and 8 yards to Javon Tracy with 19 seconds left to give the RedHawks (3-4, 2-1 MAC) a 17-0 lead at halftime.
Mozee’s scoring run came with 1:47 left in the third quarter, putting the RedHawks ahead 23-6. Ohio (4-3, 2-1) turned the ball over three plays later and Gabbert connected with Cade McDonald for a 28-yard touchdown on the next snap for a 30-6 advantage heading to the final quarter.
Gabbert totaled 178 yards on 14-for-21 passing. Mozee finished with 111 yards on 16 carries. McDonald had 84 yards on five receptions.
Parker Navarro completed 13 of 22 passes for 88 yards with two interceptions for the Bobcats. Backup Nick Poulos completed 6 of 17 for 60 yards. Poulos, Anthony Tyus III and Nolan McCormick all had short touchdown runs.
Toledo 13, Northern Illinois 6

DEKALB, Ill. (AP) — Alan Richter and Jerjuan Newton connected on a 52-yard pass for the game’s only touchdown and Toledo defeated Northern Illinois 13-6 on Saturday.
Richter’s pass to Newton gave the Rockets (5-2, 2-1 MAC) a 7-3 lead midway through the second quarter and after the Huskies followed with a field goal the Rockets led 7-6 at halftime.
Toledo’s Dylan Cunanan kicked two field goals of less than 30 yards for the only scoring of the second half.
Northern Illinois (4-3, 1-2) had a 391-285 advantage in total yards but was 4 for 19 on third down and 2 of 8 on fourth. Toledo was 2 of 15 on third and 0 for 2 on fourth.
Richter completed 15 of 28 passes for 152 yards for the Rockets and Josh Holst was 22 of 46 for 210 yards for the Huskies.
No player for either team had more than 80 yards rushing or receiving.
