MAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Karly Hellstrom, Kent State, Defender
R-Senior, Sudbury, Ont. (Lasalle Secondary)
Hellstrom had points in both games over the weekend. The senior picked up the first goal of the game for the Flashes in the 10th minute to give Kent State the early lead vs. Canisius. Hellstrom also assisted on a goal in Sunday's game vs. Northwestern.
MAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Sadie McGill, Northern Illinois, GK
Junior, Fort Worth, Texas (L.D. Bell)
McGill made eight saves as NIU defeated Valparaiso, 1-0, in the lone game of the week. McGill’s eight saves helped the Huskies post their first shutout of the season. In her first season at NIU, the North Texas transfer has posted a 3-1 record with a 1.20 goals against average and a .833 save percentage.
