MAC Defensive Player of the Week
Azure Fernsler, Kent State
Goalkeeper, Fifth year, Sinking Spring, PA. (Wilson)
Fifth year goalkeeper Azure Fernsler was a brick wall in Kent State’s victories over #22 Ohio State and #14 Syracuse this past week. Facing a total of 26 shots over the two games, Fernsler only allowed one to get past her in each game recording a total of 12 saves. Her dominance in goal helped the Flashes secure two come from behind wins defeating Ohio State 3-1 and Syracuse in overtime 2-1.
MAC Offensive Player of the Week
Jenna McCrudden, Kent State
Forward, Sophomore, Yorktown Heights, N.Y. (Lakeland)
Sophomore Jenna McCrudden was instrumental in Kent State’s victories over #22 Ohio State and #14 Syracuse this past week. Getting all three of her shots on target, she netted two game winners for the Flashes including an exhilarating one in overtime against Syracuse. McCrudden’s goals gave Kent State leads they would never relinquish, ultimately defeating the Buckeyes 3-1 and the Orange 2-1.

Brenna Schoenbachler played tough against a talented Wake Forest defense.
Luna Lopez, Longwood
Defense, Senior, San Rafael, Mendoza, Argentina
Lopez was instrumental in a dominant 2-0 shutout of Towson in which the Lancer backline held the Tigers to just one shot on goal. Playing all but two minutes of the rout -- due to a green card at the end of the first quarter -- Lopez set the stage for a one-save shutout for goalkeeper Madison Nuckols and Longwood's second shutout of the season. Towson managed just three shots total and did not put any of those on goal until just 3:58 remained in the game. Lopez also scored an unassisted goal in the win, which was her team-leading second of the season.
Paloma Gomez Rengifo, Ball State
Forward, Sophomore, Madrid, Spain (Ies Ortega Y Gasset)
Paloma Gomez Rengifo dominated offensively for the Cardinals this past weekend with her speed and her aggressiveness on the field helping Ball State go 1-1 over the weekend. Rengifo's weekend was highlighted on Sunday at Saint Francis University. Rengifo would score the first goal of the day off a solo shot from the far side of the 10-yard line to give BSU a 1-0 edge over the Red Flash. The goal by Rengifo was the first of her career. Rengifo also provided the assist on the winning-goal against SFU in overtime. Rengifo had 3 shots for the week, one shot on goal, one score, one assist and earned three points for the Cardinals this past weekend.
Ana Paula Lazaro, Longwood
Midfield, Sophomore, San Rafael, Mendoza, Argentina (Del Carmin Tenis Club)
Lazaro broke through for her first goal of the season in a big way, driving home the eventual game-winner in a 2-0 victory against Towson. The goal came off a penalty corner in which teammate Rio Weber fired a shot from the top of the arc that Lazaro deflected in front of the net. It was the first career game-winner for Lazaro and gave the Lancers a lead they would not relinquish the rest of the way.

Pauline Mangold struck early against a strong No. 11 Wake Forest defense leading App State with one goal.
Claudia Negrete Garcia, MIami University

Claudia Negrete Garcia fueled the majority of the RedHawks offense this weekend. Without her aggressiveness and will to attack the Redhawks games most likely would've looked a bit different.
