KINGSTON SPRINGS, Tenn.- The Kent State men's golf season came to an end in Kingston Springs. The Flashes shot a 293 (+9) for the final round and finished the NCAA Kingston Regional in eighth place at 860 (+8).
Cade Breitenstine led the Flashes for the tournament with a tied for 19th finish at 213 (E) score. Breitenstine finished the final round with a 72 (+1) score recording red numbers on the No. 7 and No.11 holes. He led the team with 38 total pars for the tournament.
Josh Gilkison and Chris Vandette both posted a 54-total of 216 (+3), finishing tied for 34th. Gilkison went 15 holes for par or better and shot two birdies for a 73 (+2), while Vandette fired a 73 (+2) after he carded two birdies. Vandette led the Flashes with 12 total birdies through 54 holes.
Jared Wilson carded an eagle on the par-5 No. 7 hole, and a birdie to score a 75 (+4) in the final round. Wilson finished the tournament in a tie for 44th at 220 (+7). Will Kurtz rounded out the lineup with a tied for 48th with a 221 (+8). He finished the final round with three birdies and carded a 77 (+6) score.
Kent State was third-best in the tournament on par-5 holes (-15) and recorded 50 total birdies as a team, the fourth-best. The Flashes led the tournament with two eagles, recorded by Breitenstine and Wilson.
