Central Michigan Sweeps Weekly Lacrosse Accolades

MAC Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week
Natalie Karlen, Central Michigan, Attack
Karlen had a weekend for the record books, registering a total of 20 points in leading the Chippewas to dominating road wins over Mid-American Conference foes Kent State (21-14) and Akron (17-7). Against Kent State on Thursday, not only did Karlen become the first player in program history to reach the 200-point career benchmark but she also broke the CMU record for goals scored and points in a single game. Her 10 goals against the Golden Flashes rank No. 5 in the NCAA record book and her 13 total points rank tied for No. 3. Versus Akron on Saturday, Karlen continued her strong play in spearheading the CMU offense, posting a game-high 5 goals in addition to 2 assists. She leads the MAC in goals (41) and points (53) and ranks No. 5 in the nation in goals and No. 7 in points. With 5 regular season games to be played, Karlen is on the precipice of breaking several other Central Michigan program records -- career goals (needs 16), single-season goals (needs 9) and season points (needs 10).
