Ben Carew was a one-man wrecking crew for the Flashes in the sweep of Bowling Green. Carew (.611 avg.) put together four multi-hit games and scored two or more runs in each of the four games. Carew had 4 RBI and 4 runs scored in the Friday opener and homered in game two of Saturday's double header. Carew also went 2-2 in stolen base opportunities and handled all three chances in left including a diving grab on Sunday to rob extra bases.
MAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Brandon Petersen, Western Michigan, Left-Handed Pitcher

In his second appearance of the season and his first career start, redshirt junior LHP Brandon Petersen dazzled for the Broncos in the series opener against Akron. Petersen threw a career-high seven innings allowing just one hit and striking out a career-high 12 batters in a 10-0 victory for the Brown & Gold. Petersen is the first Bronco pitcher to throw a complete game since May 17, 2019. Petersen walked the first batter of the game and then proceeded to retire the next 16 Akron batters. The Naperville, Ill., native gave up his lone hit in the top of the sixth inning with two outs. Petersen clinched WMU’s first shutout since winning 12-0 last season at Alabama A&M.
