Adam Furnas, a senior from Bowling Green, Ohio, had a career week in BGSU's weekend split at Western Michigan. Furnas racked up multiple hits in all four games, finishing with 11 total hits. The first baseman batted .647 (11-of-17) in the series with eight RBI, five runs and one home run. After registering two hits apiece in the first three games, Furnas went 5-for-6 with five RBI and three runs in Bowling Green's 20-6 Sunday (April 25) win. Furnas is now hitting .375 on the campaign to lead the Orange and Brown.

John Baker, Ball State, RHP, Senior

John Baker pitched a complete game win with eight strikeouts Friday, allowing just one run. In the process, Baker surpassed the Ball State record for career strikeouts, formerly held by 2002 MLB Draft No. 1 overall pick Bryan Bullington. Baker, the Division I active leader in strikeouts, now has 359 in his career. No other Division I player has 300.

Junior southpaw starting pitcher Joe Rock (Aliquippa, Pa.) for the Ohio baseball team's (20-13) three-game non-conference series sweep of Purdue Fort Wayne last weekend at Bob Wren Stadium. Rock dazzled in his ninth start of the season last Friday (April 23) in game one of a doubleheader, striking out 14 Purdue Fort Wayne batters over seven frames while giving up just two earned runs on six hits and one walk as the Bobcats rolled to a 12-2 seven-inning victory over the Mastodons. He earned the victory on the mound in his third complete-game effort of the year, improving to 7-1.
