Women's Lacrosse Offensinve Player of the Week
Mackenzie Gandy, Robert Morris, Attack
Gandy tied for the team lead in goals last Saturday in RMU's 18-4 win over Akron, scoring a hat trick and adding an assist as the Colonials moved to 6-0 in conference play this season. The graduate was integral in kickstarting RMU's 11-0 run in the first half, assisting on twin sister Melanie's opening goal 2:24 into the game before scoring her first of the day just 1:19 later to make it 3-0 Colonials less than five minutes in. Gandy finished the afternoon with four points on five total shots on goal.
Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week
Taylor Cantelon, University of Detroit Mercy, Midfielder
Cantelon totaled 24 draw controls, one ground ball and one caused turnover across a pair of road victories for the Titans this past week. The senior midfielder set a school record with 16 draw controls in a 24-12 road victory over YSU on Saturday, as the Titans held a 24-14 advantage in draw controls in the contest. Earlier in the week, Cantelon recorded a game-high eight DC, one caused turnover and one GB in a 15-14 double-overtime victory over Akron on Tuesday. Cantelon leads the team with 31 DC in four games and leads the MAC in draw controls per game (7.75).
