Zips Take Over First Place on Second Day of 2021 MAC Swim and Dive Championship

Day 2 Results

Ypsilanti, Mich -- On the back of three event victories, the reigning MAC Champion Akron Zips have taken over first place at the 2021 MAC Women's Swim and Dive Championships. Akron finished day two with a total of 506 points, followed by Buffalo with 494.

Sarah Watson led the way individually for the Zips Friday night claiming the top spot in the 100-Fly with a time of 52.04 to earn a NCAA-B Cut. 

The Buffalo Bulls continued thier strong efforts in the pool earning gold in the 200-Medley Relay, 200-Free, 100-Breast, and the 800-Free relay! 

Bowling Green earned their first title of the championship as Daisy Platts took home a gold medal in the 100-Back. 

Miami's Nicole Maier broke the only MAC Record of the night in the 400-IM, touching the wall in a little over two seconds faster than the previous record (4:11.30).

The final day of the 2021 MAC Women's Swim and Dive Championship will begin at 10:30 AM with preliminary heats, followed by finals begining at 6:10 PM with the 1650-Free.
