MAC Women’s Golfer of the Week
Jennifer David, Akron
Freshman, Hudson, Ohio (Hudson)
The Akron Zips women’s golf team climbed four spots and finished runner-up as freshman Jennifer David (Hudson, Ohio) claimed top individual honors at the Dolores Black Falcon Invite on Sunday. During Sunday’s final round, the Zips fired a 304 (+16) team total at the par-72 Stone Ridge Golf Club that stretches 5,829 yards. Akron finished the 36-hole event with a 615 (+39) team ledger paced by David’s even par 144-stroke performance. David carded a 1-under 71 final round score mixed with her previous round 73 (+1) total for her first collegiate win. On the final day of competition, David collected 13 par scores and three birdies en route to climbing four spots to claim the individual title. She won the event by two strokes with 22 pars, seven birdies and seven bogeys.

Catherine Loftus, Ohio
Junior, Roswell, Ga. / Saline
Junior Catherine Loftus put together her best tournament of the season. On Saturday, Loftus recorded a 75 before returning to the course on Sunday to shoot a 74, giving her a two-day total of 149 (+5) and placing her in fourth. The finish is Loftus' first top-five finish of the season.
Jasmine Ly, NIU
Freshman (2nd Year), Windsor, Ontario, Canada (Holy Names HS)
Jasmine Ly won her first collegiate tournament title over the weekend as she earned medalist honors at the Redbird Spring Invitational with a 54-hole total of eight-over par 224. Ly won the tournament by one stroke over Ali Schrock of Illinois State by shooting a two-over par 74 on Saturday after back-to-back rounds of 75 on Friday in the tournament’s first two rounds. Ly led NIU to its second team win of the season as the Huskies came from behind on the final day to defeat host Illinois State by eight strokes. She ranked second in the field with six birdies during the tournament. She posted her third top five finish of the spring with the win.
Hadley Moritz, Ball State
Jr., Wheaton, Ill. (Wheaton Warrenville South)
Hadley Moritz placed third individually to lead Ball State to the team championship at the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational. Moritz posted rounds of 72 and 76 in challenging scoring conditions at Stone Ridge Golf Club to finish the 36-hole event at 148 (+4). She helped the Cardinals overcome a seven-shot deficit entering the final round to win by 10 strokes for the team's first tournament victory of the season.
Olivia Loberg, Eastern Michigan
Sophomore, Bend, Ore.-Summit
Sophomore Olivia Loberg (Bend, Ore.-Summit) carded a final round 77 and finished tied for fifth at the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational Sunday, April 11, at the Stone Ridge Golf Club. Loberg, who was tied for fourth after the opening round, had her second-best individual finish of the season. She was the runner up at the Don Benbow Invitational early in March. The Bend, Ore. native shot a 73 in the opening round and finished with a two-round total of 150.
Led by Loberg, the Eastern Michigan University women's golf team finished tied with Youngstown State for 10th in the team standings with a 36-hole score of 629 (309-320). Ball State won the team title with a score of 605, while Jenn David of Akron captured medalist honors with a score of 144 (73-71) on the par-72, 5,829 yard setup.
