Day 1 Results
After six events, the Buffalo Bulls hold the lead at the 2021 MAC Women's Swimming and Diving Championship in Ypsilanti, Michigan. UB finished the day with a 239 points, followed closely by Akron, who sits in second place with 235 total points.
The Bulls began the championships with a win in the 200-Free relay, the team of Jillian Lawton, Toni Naccarella, Jenna Krull, and Ellie Duley clocked in with a time of 1:29.67.
Naccarella also earned an individual victory on day one, clinching the 50-Free with a school record time of 22.37.
In the 400-Medley Relay, the Akron team of Madelyn Gatrall, Paula Garcia, Sarah Watson, and Rachel Schiffli took home gold, touching the wall at 3:34.85.
Watson tallied an individual victory for the Zips in the 200-IM with a time of 1:56.42
The Miami RedHawks we represented well on day one of the championship, earning a win in the 500-Free with Nicole Maier claiming the top podium spot.
In the diving well, the host team Eastern Michigan Eagles took two of the top three podium places, earning first and third place. Senior Bethany Berger won the 1-meter diving competition with a score of 303.90
Day two of the 2021 MAC Swim and Dive Championship will begin at 10:30 am with prelims, while final races will begin at 6:00 pm, starting with the 400-IM.
