MAC Gymnast of the Week
Hannah Demers, Central Michigan, Sophomore
Demers posted a 39.300 to win the all-around and lead CMU past Bowling Green over the weekend. She also tied for first on vault (9.850) and finished in the top 3 on bars (3rd, 9.800), beam (2nd, 9.750) and floor (2nd, 9.900).
MAC Specialist of the Week
Natalie Hamp, NIU, Sophomore
Natalie Hamp tied her career high and earned her fourth win on uneven parallel bars on the season with a 9.875 on bars versus Kent State. Hamp’s score was the highest of the meet (tied with two 9.875s on floor exercise). She achieved the mark for the second time this season and the second time in her career.

Rachel DeCavitch, Kent State, Sophomore
The 2020 MAC Gymnast of the Year is in midseason form after her performance at Northern Illinois. DeCavitch tied for first place on floor with a score of 9.875. The sophomore also tied for second on both bars (9.800) and vault (9.775) at the NIU meet to help the Golden Flashes post an overall score of 194.775 which counts toward the team’s NQS.
Elena Lawson, Bowling Green, Senior
Elena Lawson competed on three events, setting a season-high on vault, as Bowling Green set a season-high team score. Lawson scored a 9.825 on vault as the Falcons posted their highest single-rotation score of the year with a 48.825 on the apparatus. She also tied for team-high honors with a 9.775 on floor and scored a 9.575 on balance beam.
Tara Kofmehl, NIU, Senior
NIU’s Tara Kofmehl put together another four-hit meet to score a 38.900 in the all-around Saturday in NIU’s win over Kent State. Kofmehl’s 9.850 on floor exercise gave the Huskies’ floor squad its highest total of the year (48.975) as the team came from behind to overtake the Golden Flashes on the last event. Her 9.775 to tie for second on vault was her fourth meet finishing first or second on the event on the season. She was the only all-around competitor in the meet. Kofmehl ranks third in the MAC (NQS) in both floor exercise and the all-around.
Payton Murphy, Western Michigan, Sophomore
Won all-around competition for the fourth time in seven meets this season, helping WMU hand Ball State its first loss of the season. Won floor exercise and tied for the top mark on beam Matched collegiate-best score on the uneven bars (9.8), finishing second. Placed among the top-two finishers in all four events against the Cardinals.
Kennedy Rae Johnson, Central Michigan, Senior
Johnson won bars with a season-high mark of 9.875 as CMU defeated Bowling Green. The senior also scored a 9.775 on vault.
Riley Danielson, Kent State University, Junior
The Kent State beam specialist showed her full potential on Saturday against Northern Illinois. Danielson tied a career-high 9.850 and won the individual title on beam against NIU. Her performance helped the Flashes score an overall 194.775 to improve the team’s NQS to 195.675 which puts Kent State 29th in the country.
Samantha Marion, Bowling Green, Senior
Samantha Marion tied for medalist honors on vault as Bowling Green set a team-high score Sunday at Central Michigan. Marion posted a season-best 9.850 during the vault rotation, helping the Falcons to a 48.825, the best single-rotation score of the year for BGSU.
Charlotte Tishkoff, Western Michigan, Sophomore
Finished in a four-way tie for the top balance beam score at Ball State as the WMU handed Ball State its first loss of the season.
