MAC Announces 2021 Gymnastics All-MAC Teams

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference announced the Gymnastics All-MAC First Team and Second Team selections for the 2021 season Friday. The teams were selected based upon individual conference rankings of National Qualifying Standard (NQS).

Three new faces highlight the 2021 Gymnastics All-MAC First Team. The Central Michigan duo of Hannah DeMers and Katie Kowalski along with Western Michigan’s Payton Murphy earn the top honors after tallying the highest NQS score in each event in the conference – vault, bars, beam, floor and all-around.  

The All-MAC Second Team is made up of seven student athletes, including Kent State’s 2020 Freshman of the Year Rachel Decavitch along with Eastern Michigan's Caitlin Satler, and Jada Rondeau who all earned the nod for the for the second straight year. The Ball State freshman Victoria Henry represents the Cardinals on the second team after a very strong start to conference action in 2021. Kent State senior Abby Fletcher, Northern Illinois sophomore Natalie Hamp and Central Michigan’s Sierra Demarinis round out the second team honorees. 
 
The 2021 MAC Gymnastics specialty awards including Coach, Freshman, Gymnast, Specialist, and Senior Gymnast of the Year will be announced after the conclusion of the 2021 MAC Gymnastics Championship Meet.

The 2021 MAC Gymnastics Championships will take place Saturday, March 20th at Western Michigan University. Check out Championship Central for all the information for the championship!
