For the second consecutive game, the Mountaineers lit up the scoreboard first. In the second quarter in game one v. Ball State, Sarah Farrell connected on a goal from just inside the circle to give App State a 1-0 advantage with 8:17 left to play before half. The rocket of a flick was Farrell's first of the season and the second of her career. The front-to-back defensive effort in game two against Ball State, led by Jarosz, stifled the Cardinals to just three total shots. Jarosz's back line presence included a defensive save in both matchups against Ball State this past weekend, marking her 20th defensive save of her career. Her game two of a swoop in save effort kept the Cardinal's off the board and eventually lifted App State to a 1-0 shutout of a bounce-back victory in conference play. Although no defensive save was recorded against Saint Louis on Monday, the Mountaineer defense has held its opponents in the last two games to only seven shot attempts.
