Men's Singles Player of the Week
Oliver Valentinsson, NIU

Oliver Valentinsson scored a pair of singles wins to help the Huskies remain unbeaten as they knocked off Marquette, 4-3, on Feb. 18 and Drake, 4-3, on Feb. 20. Playing at number five, Valentinsson began the weekend with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Tin Krstulovic of Marquette. The Malmo, Sweden native then rallied for a 1-6, 6-4, 6-2 win over Drake’s Markus Bolin to help the Huskies top the Bulldogs as NIU improved to 7-0 on the season. Individually, Valentinsson improved his singles record to 6-1 this spring.
Men's Doubles Team of the Week
Mikael Vollbach, NIU, Freshman, Helsinki, Finland
Bor Schweiger Muzar, NIU, Senior, Crnomelj, Slovenia
Mikael Vollbach and Bor Schweiger Muzar won their only match to finish this week as the duo improved to 4-1 on the season, helping the Huskies move to 7-0 as a team in 2021. In the first match of the week against Marquette (Feb. 18), the NIU duo led Marquette’s Stefan Dragovic and Ian Brady when the match was called with the doubles result decided. Two days later, Vollbach and Muzar posted a 6-4 win over Drake’s Matija Metic and Markus Bolin, helping NIU win the doubles point and take the tie, 4-3.

Krzysztof Wetoszka, Toledo, Sophomore, Szczecin, Poland
Cole Shoults and Krzysztof Wetoszka defeated their Youngstown State opponent in doubles play on the No. 1 court last Friday, 6-4. Shoults and Wetoszka are undefeated in doubles play this year, playing each of Toledo's three matches on the No. 1 court.

Finn Macnamara, Buffalo, Freshman, Brisbane, Australia
UB's freshmen duo of Tom Owen and Finn Macnamara won at third singles on Saturday against St. Bonaventure as they came a way with a 6-3 victory Norka Sanchez and Pablo Flores. Owen and Macnamara were also leading in their doubles match on Friday against Cleveland State when doubles play was stopped. Owen and Macnamara are a perfect 2-0 in doubles play this year.
Krzysztof Wetoszka, Toledo
Sophomore, Szczecin, Poland
Krzysztof Wetoszka remained undefeated on the No. 3 court this season with a 7-6, 7-1 win over his Youngstown State counterpart. Wetoszka is 3-0 this year playing on court No. 3 and won his previous two matches by identical scores (6-0, 6-0).
Simon Wibler, Buffalo
Junior, Vaxjo, Sweden
Junior Simon Wibler won both of his matches in singles action this past weekend, claiming both victories in straight sets. On Friday at sixth singles, Wibler defeated Kade Mindry of Cleveland State 6-4, 6-3 and then on Saturday he moved up to fifth singles where he defeated Joseph Blakeley of St. Bonaventure, 6-0, 6-2. Wibler is now 3-0 in singles action on the season.
