MAC Baseball Player of the Week

Weisenseel (Strongsville, Ohio) led the Ohio baseball team (1-2) with five hits and five RBIs as the Bobcats opened the 2021 season at Radford last weekend. Weisenseel went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and scored a run in a 7-3 loss in the season opener last Friday (February 19). The following day, he finished 2-for-4 with an RBI in a 4-2 setback. In the Sunday (February 21) series finale, Weisenseel tallied his team-leading fifth hit of the weekend, drove in two runs and scored another as Ohio earned its first win of the new season with a 7-5 come-from-behind victory over the Highlanders.
 
MAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Tyler Ruetschle, Ball State, Pitcher          
Junior, Durango, Colorado
Ruetschle shut down #22 Arizona in BSU's 5-2 win on Sunday. He came in the game with Ball State trailing in the 3rd inning and took the Cardinals to the 9th with a lead. He worked 5.2 innings and struck out nine while allowing just one runner to reach 3rd base. Ruetschle was the key to Ball State's second straight win over nationally-ranked Arizona, as BSU had won 8-7 in 11 innings the previous night.
