Lauren Ingle Named Women's Golfer of the Week

Senior Lauren Ingle tied the NIU school record for lowest 54-hole score with an eight-under par 208 to finish second individually at the Mid-American Challenge and lead the Huskies to the team title. Ingle's efforts chopped eight strokes off her previous career tournament best while her 69s in the first and third round tied her best career round. Ingle led the field in pars and was -5 on the par 5s for the tournament. NIU won its first event since Sept. 2018, coming from behind to defeat Florida Gulf Coast with a school record 280 in the final round to win by three strokes. NIU bested 6 other MAC teams to earn the win.

Sophomore Avery Ovens led the Bobcats this past weekend at the 2021 Mid American Challenge hosted by Bowling Green at the 6,068-yard Royal Lakes Golf Course in Lakewood Ranch, Fla. Ovens open the tournament with a first round score of 76 before coming back later in the day to record a 74. Ovens then returned to the course on Tuesday to shoot a 77, giving her a two-day total of 227, helloing her finish +11. Her score helped tied her for 34th place. 
 
Angel Hii, Toledo  
Freshman, Kuching, Malaysia            
 
Freshman Angel Hii led Toledo in her collegiate debut by shooting a three-over par 219 at the Mid-American Challenge. Hii tied for 12th place in the event and capped off the tournament with a one-under par 71 after carding a pair of 74s in her first two rounds.

Central Michigan freshman Ashley Goh shot 73-73-71--217 to tie for 8th place in her first collegiate event, the MAC Challenge in Lakewood Ranch, Fla. Goh ignited her final-round 71 with an eagle on the par-5 second hole and she completed a round that ranks among the three best in program history. Goh played a critical role in the Chippewas' fifth-place finish and their 217 total, the second-best 54-hole score in program history. CMU tied the 18-hole program record with its second-round 291, and it set a program record with a 36-hole 585 total.
 
Hadley Moritz, Ball State

Hadley Moritz recorded the lowest 54-hole score of her career, surpassing her previous best by five strokes, with a 1-under par 215 at the Mid-American Challenge. She opened with back-to-back under-par rounds with a 71 and 70 at Lakewood Ranch Country Club before closing with a 74. Moritz tied for sixth in a field of 69 golfers to lead Ball State with her fifth career top-10 finish. The Cardinals finished seventh as a team.
